A calm offline preparedness library for Mac: local search, maps, wiki references, saved waypoints, and optional content packs without accounts. Gridless Kit is a native macOS preparedness library designed to stay useful when the internet is unreliable, unavailable, or intentionally offline. It gives your Mac a local reference desk for outages, travel, rural work, storm planning, family preparedness, and everyday resilience. No account is required. Core reading, saved items, local search, installed maps, saved waypoints, and measurements are designed to work from local storage. What Gridless Kit includes: Offline reference library Keep preparedness articles and source metadata available on your Mac. Search installed content locally, save important references, and read without cloud sync or a web account. Offline maps Use the bundled world overview immediately, then optionally download regional OpenStreetMap-derived detail packs. Installed maps support local viewing, waypoints, straight-line measurements, and PNG/PDF exports without a live tile server. Preparedness POI overlays Downloaded map packs can include local OpenStreetMap points for water, health and first aid, fuel, and shelter. POIs are stored locally and shown by zoom and visible area for fast map browsing. Local search Search queries stay on your Mac. Gridless Kit searches installed articles, wiki packs, saved items, map waypoints, measurements, countries, and cities from local indexes. Saved planning items Save useful articles, map waypoints, and measurements so they remain easy to reopen later. User-initiated downloads Optional map and wiki downloads start only when you choose them. Downloads are verified before installation, and incomplete content does not replace working local packs. Privacy-first design Gridless Kit has no required account, no tracking, no analytics, and no cloud sync. Optional network access is used for downloads or updates that you start yourself.
