Ground Control is mission control for every Git repository on your Mac.
Add a folder — your whole Development folder, say — and every repository inside reports in: its branch, how far ahead or behind it is, whether there's uncommitted work. The home screen puts first what needs you: conflicts waiting, commits to pull, branches that moved on both sides, work left untouched for weeks.
Open as many repositories as you work on, each in its own tab. Every history becomes a flight map: every branch, remote branch and tag drawn as one graph, lanes that never jump sideways, merges curving back into place, and HEAD marked like the craft you're flying. Commits you make in Terminal or Xcode appear on their own.
ACT ON IT
• Switch branches with a double-click; check out any commit or tag
• Stage files or single changes, commit, amend, and push
• Fetch, pull and push, with progress you can watch and cancel
• Merge, rebase, cherry-pick, revert, tag and stash from the graph
• Anything that can't be undone asks first, in a sentence that says exactly what it will do
CONFLICTS, SETTLED
When a merge, a rebase or your own set-aside changes collide, Ground Control says what stopped and shows each conflict with your side and theirs. Use one, both, or write the result yourself — then continue, abort, or put your changes back where they were.
FIND ANYTHING
Command-F searches commit messages, authors and hashes, what each commit changed, and branch names. Matches light up in the graph.
PULL REQUESTS
See the pull requests waiting for your review, read their changes, comment on lines, approve, and merge — with the GitHub command line tool and the optional helper.
MADE FOR YOUR MAC
Ground Control carries its own Git, so there's nothing else to install. Grant it your home folder once and it reads your repositories, your Git settings and your SSH keys; your code stays on your Mac, and Git talks only to your own remotes. Tabs, keyboard shortcuts for everything, adjustable text size, 32 languages, and quiet mission-control sounds for a launch and a docking — or switch them off.
