For anyone fighting against the rise of misinformation, sensationalism, and biased news, Ground News Pro will help you easily compare how a story is being covered by thousands of sources from across the political spectrum and from around the world.
If you are like the many people who feel overwhelmed and under-informed as they piece together patchwork information from social media and conflicting news sources, Ground News Pro will empower you with an array of visualization and comparison tools that makes it simple to analyze, understand, and draw your own conclusions about a developing news story. Unlike traditional news aggregators, which utilize crowd-sourcing and algorithms that reward clickbait and reinforce pre-existing bias, Ground News Pro helps users understand the news objectively based on media bias, geographic location, and time.
Launching two weeks before the first votes are cast in the U.S. presidential race, Ground News Pro is the world’s first news comparison platform that will help voters make better informed decisions, drawing from more than 40,000 news sources worldwide and featuring an average of 30,000 news stories per day. Ground News Pro is not only where you want to get your news and where you want your neighbor to get their news.

Finally the center is considered a bias
It works fine like other news aggregators out there the only issue for me are the cap limits of a number of things to follow and clump them together with sources. It makes more sense to have topics I enjoy be separate to follow sources and able to follow a hundred items. While I don’t mind the idea capping the limit of sources it shouldn’t be this low with 20-40 wether you want be on there as guest or free member before committing to pay subscription.
And for those that are wondering, no I’m not joking. I’m sincerely happy that I found a site that is able to label a source as center bias, while it is still able to, and not claim it to be least bias unlike with groups like media bias fact check would. Contrary to what some may want to believe they do cherry pick stories or narratives they want to tell and while getting away of not being called out for skewing an issue because they aren’t obviously leaning towards to an end of a spectrum right? Or at the least supposedly not picking favorites, which is why I usually prefer sites to follow or ignore that overtly state they support one end because that frankly is more honest and refreshing then lying to be not either one and worse claiming to not be manipulating either one to look less bias by comparison.
Good idea, decent execution
Alright. So I reviewed this a few months ago and gave it a 3/5 stars, but now apparently all the issues I described are fixed, being that it was extremely laggy to use and had a very unorganized interface. This is what I think of it now.
Okay, look: honestly, not much has changed. It’s a great idea. Actually, it’s one of the only apps to execute this idea with some sort of success at all. But the flaws are still there, albeit to a lesser degree: the app is less laggy, the interface is less unorganized, and the news is less generalized. It’s better than before, for sure. But good enough to use in 2020? Maybe for some. But when there are apps like Apple News, Google News, News Break & AP News, that are all fluid when scrolling and easy when navigating, its really hard to justify picking this app over any other popular news app, even if the news here is not biased.
This generation needs fast information and an easy way to get it. The Ground News app is so close to becoming something revolutionary: a truly appealing way to receive trustworthy news. But it doesn’t quite deliver; yet.
Developer Response ,
Hello - Happy to report that the newest update has patched all the bugs that we could identify from previous versions. The update also includes an improved news reader that provides easier navigation and a simpler interface. If you have any more feedback, please don't hesitate to reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org
My only complaint is that they need to develop an IPad-specific version where the “news feed” is a vertical stream that you scroll up and down through on the map (while in landscape mode) instead of the weird narrow band with horizontal scrolling. Otherwise its a pretty solid app with the ability to see news articles from multiple sources for a given event. Some of the articles are not accurately depicted on the map; however, this could be related to the articles’ meta-data and not an app issue.
Definitely recommend giving this one a shot, especially if you live in a high-population area and enjoying staying informed.
