Grow Games & Icebreakers 4+

Hey, I’m Kenny, the creator of this app. Our goal from day 1 at Stuff You Can Use was to create high quality & super practical resources for church leaders. This app and the games inside it are really years in the making, I just want to give a HUGE shoutout to all the youth pastors, kids leaders, and team members who have poured countless hours into these games, graphics, videos, etc.

We really hope this app is another high quality tool in your ministry tool belt that you can use every week. The goal is to save you a bunch of time and resources so you don’t have to spend hours scouring the internet looking for games to download or buy. We hope you love it!

I’m still in the beginning stages of using this app, but so far it is EXTREMELY helpful for games for youth group — ESPECIALLY during the pandemic. One of my weekly anxieties as a youth pastor is finding games that work for our community that aren’t cheesy, lame, or awkward. It’s a ministry challenge I was totally not expecting. Grow Games and Icebreakers is a super easy and functional for my needs each week. There are so many different types of games and I’m still working through my favorites list to see what works and what doesn’t for our community. I especially want to highlight that this is a great resource for finding solid games to play via Zoom with youth.

UPDATE— there is in fact a category for social distance games. Wow. Incredible and excited to try them out soon!

I’ll report back in a couple months after we’ve tried some more games to give more feedback on the games themselves. My 4 star is only because I haven’t used this app very long, and am just trying it out to see how it works for me. Once I use it enough to feel I can genuinely give 5 stars, I will do so!

Programming can be one of the most challenging aspects of youth and kids ministry to coordinate. How do we create fun, dynamic environments that keep our kids wanting to come back week after week? I can tell you from personal experience that it’s easy for me to plan my messages,but I often experience a lot of stress trying to figure out how to give a fun environment week after week. Having a games library this large with dynamic games in a variety of formats is a huge benefit to my ministry and it will continue to help me reach kids from all walks of life. Another gem from the Stuff You Can Use/Grow team. Highly recommend.
