They fixed it! It’s back!

In May of 2022, I was sorely disappointed when changes to the HT app made it substantially more difficult to shop. I stopped using the app altogether and, if I’m honest, I started shopping primarily at other grocery stores because it was an easier experience with comparable products. On a whim a few weeks ago, I looked into placing an order with the HT app. Much to my surprise (and delight) I found that the app had been fixed and returned to its previous usefulness! I’ve shopped with it now several weeks in a row and haven’t been disappointed yet! The ease of clipping coupons, shopping the ad, building a cart for Express Lane pickup, and checking out can’t be beat. I also really enjoy the added savings incentives to buy ahead online. In this economy, I’ll take the savings wherever I can! Thank you Harris Teeter for fixing the app and once again providing an excellent customer experience! (Just please don’t try to change the app again!)

Updated review on this App

Today, I opened the app, and a pop-up appeared stating that my version wasn't supported. I updated to the new version, and I seriously can't tell the difference. It's still a wonky app. It still doesn't save the way you shop. Every time I open the app, I have to choose the way I shop. I still can't put in the amount of deli meat I need. I type the amount into the special instruction box, but that is useless because the shoppers never read the special instructions. I use my recipe app before shopping to plan what I will make. After searching for the item you need on the HT app, you can't leave the HT app because if you do go, the app will spring back to the HT home page, forcing you to search for your item again. With the monopoly that Kroger has on the grocery store market, you would think they could afford to hire people to put out a better app.

Old review: The app is wonky at times. It freezes up for no reason. To get it to work again, I have to close the app and reopen it, resulting in a longer time trying to shop. Also, I have found the app does not always have all the items that the physical store does, causing me to shop at other stores to finish my pickup grocery shopping. The app, when working, does what it needs to do, but it's not as intuitive as other grocery apps I use. I wish it were I could shop at Harris Teeter more.

App isn’t an improvement. Each update gets worse

App still hasn’t improved. It is difficult to find your pick up order. You have to go through so many steps to find it, and it isn’t intuitive. Whoever is working on this app, obviously doesn’t do pick up orders. It used to be on the front page if you placed an order. Also, even though the store takes Apple Pay, it still isn’t an option back on the app. Apple Pay is much more secure. I don’t even think this app has 2 factor Authentication, which opens it up to peoples info being stolen. Please get a developer who actually does pick up orders in their own lives to improve this app. It needs A LOT of improvement. I don’t shop at Harris Teeter as much because of it.

App improvements are terrible. Each update is worse than the previous. If you go to the savings part, and try to add things to your cart, it doesn’t add them to the app cart, it adds them to a different cart. It’s almost like the savings page takes you to Harris Teeter Website. The app was way better before. Also, it still doesn’t allow for Apple Pay nor does the app do two factor authentication. I’ve honestly stopped using this app as much. The Apple Pay is a big factor, as well as the savings issues. If Kroger Corp (who owns Harris Teeter) doesn’t update to the times, they will go away like Blockbuster and Sears.
