I Love Your Game!
There’s is one thing I’d like to request for the programming. Can you write a script that overrides the swipe-down and swipe-up menus for the iPhone? Both of these functions get really irritating in-game while menacingly swiping all over my screen and frequently accidentally swiping too close to the top or bottom of the screen prompting the pop-up of those menus. Each time that happens, the game freezes briefly but only long enough for you to have to reset your finger position on the screen (stop touching the screen basically in that moment), and it goes back to how it was. But often in that moment, there is school passing and the action of accidentally prompting one of the above-mentioned menus, followed by the brief game freeze and having to reset my finger, can potentially cause me to miss half of the school or even the entire school at times.
Maybe provide an option in the settings menu to turn these functions “On” or “Off”? I think if you provided a fix for this as well as the ability to choose whether you wanted it enabled or not, would be quite satisfying to many of your users as I imagine I’m not the only one with this issue. I’m sure there are probably plenty of other users with an iPhone7 as well as other Apple devices with the same frustration.
Thanks for your time!
What a great game.
The designers were very considerate in how this game operates. Some games force you to give your full attention to the screen at all times or you’ll die or some time limit runs out. People forget we are playing these games when we are out and about (not driving or crossing a street of course) and we may get distracted by whatever life throws at us. These distractions usually result in us having to focus our attention elsewhere and not looking at the game. This game does not penalize you for distractions. Of course the more you pay attention, the better stuff you can acquire. You can also work hard on upgrades and the NPCs will fish for you which earns money while you are not playing. It’s a brilliant design. I also like how the designers don’t flood us with ads. However, if you watch the adds, the designers will reward you for doing so. Oh gamers a big heads up!!! Every time you level up/catch a boss fish, you start from the beginning. But don’t worry, this is still rewarding as you still keep almost everything and you earn money faster each time. Great job designers!
So close to a great game, but not there yet.
This is a good game, fun for awhile, but eventually progression stops at the next to last level leaving me wondering if the last level is even reachable. I need 100 octillion to do so, but the fish prices and the crates provide too little to meet that goal. It may be different for others depending on their crew, items, and the level of the items in use, but that’s when pay-to-play enters the equation -gems are required for raising levels and buying crew, obtainable from crates and wheel spins and by purchase. I’m annoyed that my next goal is to simply reach 10 crew members. I have 5, and it’ll take 445 gems to purchase my next one (random) crew member. 10 is highly unlikely.
Also, I suspect there’s cheating in the tournaments due to the fact I can attain a 1 octillion amount after a long period of time at the penultimate level, but I’ve seen tournaments won in the six minute time limit with an even higher amount, and that’s just impossible.
All in all, this is an alright game, could be better, but might be the best fishing game I’ve found so far. The gem requirements lowers the score, as does the inability to reach the highest level in game, but if you’re looking for something to gently pass some time (as well as to leave alone for some time and to let it idly fish and rack up money) it’s fine. If you’re looking for a game that’s possible to compete, like myself, you may wish to pass.
