House Design 4+

I used this software to quickly build floorplan layouts for my house, as well as various houses I considered buying. This program was a lifesaver for figuring out what furniture to bring to my new house, and what to leave behind at the old house for staging. I was able to give copies to my family so I wouldn’t be the only one directing the movers. I still consult the floorplan when debating about moving around my heavy pieces!

I figured out the program pretty quickly, and though there are odd things I’d like to see fixed, I learned how to work around them quickly too! I now find it easy and flexible, and all my friends think I’ve spent a ton of time creating these beautiful floorplans. I appreciated that there was a variety of furniture and utility pieces to help me imagine my spaces, but of course I would love more options.

If not for the odd behaviors, I’d have given 5 stars (can’t always undo, can’t turn off the snap-to-grid when moving walls, saves constantly which forces you to save new copies just to try new scenarios).

I've used this app to virtually move our home's furniture for years. Currently, I'm using the app to plan a future remodel of kitchen and living room. Once you create your floorplan, you can make copies to then freely move walls and windows to show different remodels ideas without sacrificing the original floorplan. Also, you can open the walk-thru view to get a even better feel of the remodel ideas. App is a bit limited on accessories, but still hIghly recommend.

I purchased this app earlier this week. I used it for a couple of days and was happy with the product. Up until yesterday I would have easily given it a 4 star rating. But …………?

Yesterday I tried to sign into the program and it crashes right after the launch. I have gone through most of the diagnostics that I know how to perform, Rebooting, Closing all apps that are running, even starting the Mac in safe mode. All to no avail. I then attempted to get help from the developer. However there appears to be no way to contact the developer. The “House Design Support” link at the top of this page and at the right hand corner, above this form, just takes you to a new app. The "FAQ questions" of course don’t address this issue. I hope to hear from the developer from this posting or I will be going back to Apple for a refund.

It’s a shame, because I really did think that the program had great potential.
