Hungry Panda has great access to Chinese restaurants, which users do appreciate, but its service is really bad.
The first time I used it, I had to call the restaurant to confirm if my order would be accepted, as it was pending in the app for more than 20 mins.
The second time I used it, the delivery guys was 3.7km away from my address, but suddenly the status was changed to “order delivered”. I called the delivery guy twice but no answer. I messaged Hungry Panda more than five times, but no reply. I had to ask my credit card company to dispute the transaction...
Understand that things are in chaos during covi-19, but there are companies doing it well. For example, RicePo: When the item I ordered was out of stock, the restaurant called me and asked whether I’d like to switch to another one or just cancel this item. Not even until I finished talking to them, the customer support called me asking me if the issue has been solved successfully and if I need any other help. Such a big difference!!
I would recommend RicePo more! Btw, I’m not anyone paid by RicePo, but a real user. I’m posting here to let other users know the real experience. In addition, I hope to hear from Hungry Panda, as I still haven’t heard back from anyone after asking your customer representative five times...
Bad user experience, terrible customer service
I made an order on the app in the evening. The app told me my order will arrive in one hour. I waited for two hours and the order didn’t arrive. I called customer service but their line is always busy.
I managed to have real time chat with customer support in the app. They told me that particular store I ordered from has a policy that order made after 5pm will be delivered the next day. But that policy is written no where in my order. In the app it is still showing that I will receive my order in the same day. Apparently this “policy” is written in a very non obvious place of that store in the app. But again, in my order window it is showing my order will be picked up and delivered in the same day I ordered it.
So I asked for a refund. And they refuse. I asked them when will I receive my order the next day so that I can be ready? They have no idea. So how do I plan my day tomorrow? Stay home all day to wait for food i wanted the day before?!? Do I need to wake up at 6am to take my food so they don’t won’t be left outside my house all day?
DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS APP!
I ordered from this app and listed my requirements of not adding spices to some items, very clearly! Food was delivered 1.5 hours later, full of spicy sauce! So I called and asked for one of the two things - refund of the items I listed or redeliver within 30 mins. The restaurant said they could redeliver in 45 mins, and ask me to return the items that are not supposed to be spicy. SERIOUSLY? During pandemic, a restaurant is asking unknown customer to return food. Later the customer rep from Panda called me and said again that I need to return the food and said it’s their common practice. Common practice to return food back to restaurant. I told them I already opened the box and that’s how I can tell it’s full of spicy sauce. And yet, they still ask for the return of food. I lost all my trust in their service. If you are concerned about your health, stay away from this service.
