Hyperfocla calculates hyperfocal distance and exact depth of field for your camera and lens, using your sensor's own dimensions rather than one constant shared across every format, and tells you when an aperture is narrow enough that diffraction will soften the image no matter how well you focus. Circle of confusion from your actual sensor Depth of field math depends on a number most calculators just assume. Hyperfocla computes circle of confusion from your sensor's real diagonal, including the difference between Canon and Sony/Nikon/Fuji APS-C sizes that share a name but are not the same size, so the numbers that follow are built on something accurate. The trade-off most calculators skip Stopping down buys depth of field, but past a certain aperture diffraction softens everything regardless of focus accuracy. Hyperfocla flags this threshold as a named trade-off, not an error, so the choice is yours with the full picture in front of you.
