iControlAV2012 is the latest generation app. of its kind from Pioneer that allows you to control your 2012 Pioneer AV Receiver and Blu-ray Disc Player with your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch.
(A more comfortable operation can be done by the screen construction only for iPad that makes the best use of a big screen when installing it in your iPad.)

4 sections offer you near-complete operational and settings control.
-“Control” not only covers the basic functions of the AV Receiver (power, volume, input selection, and sound and video modes, balance and tone, etc) for the main zone(To be able to power on your AV Receiver using iControlAV2012, it is necessary to Turn ON the "Network Standby" setting beforehand.) , but also for additional zones as applicable; even internet radio and media server content navigation is integrated . And more, Basic functions such as Play, Stop, Forward, and Reverse are supported for the Blu-ray Disc Player.
-"Sound Explorer" is a brand new fun-meets-function approach where no less than 18 Pioneer unique sound adjustment functions can be operated and experienced. Want a sound field that is wider than possible with your available speakers? Please play around with Virtual Wide, Virtual Height, and Virtual Surround Back in "Virtual Speakers". You can directly jump to on-line video animations that concisely explain see the benefits of many of Pioneer original sound modes.
-“Balance” and “Emphasis” are virtual motion adaptive functions that allow you to change the "sweet-spot" of your home theater, independently adjust the volume of your center speaker or subwoofer just by tilting your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch. "Emphasis" mode also features "Finger EQ" where you can adjust the sound equalization instantly with the touch of your finger.

Needs to control A/B speakers
What is the point of being able to control your receiver if you have to walk to it to switch between A and B speakers. My outdoor speakers are connected to the receiver's B speaker output, and I have to climb 2 flights of stairs to switch it if I want to listen while outside. I can turn the unit on, change the input, and everything else all from my porch...why do I have to be standing in front of the unit to make this simple change? Pioneer you MUST build this feature into all versions of iControl!!! It's just so basic! 5 stars with this feature added!
Works Great
Love this app. I have the VSX-1122k and it operates very well. I'm impressed with all the functionality it has. The app allows you to do the obvious stuff like change inputs and change the volume but it also allows you to rename the inputs, make speaker setup changes such as speaker distances, volume bias adjustments per speaker and zone management. You can control zone 2 anywhere in the house (I use zone 2 for the in-house speaker system) and it is nice to be able to change pandora stations from anywhere.
The only thing I would like to see is the ability to turn the receiver on using this app. It was obviously considered and decided against because the app displays a message after turning the receiver off stating that you will need to turn it on manually to prevent accidental control from the app.
Great, Handy App
I use this on my SC-1522 and it is great and so handy for controlling volume, switching sound modes, and controlling the inputs such as Pandora radio.
Someone here wrote an angry review about not being able to register your Pandora account with this app. This is so easy to do through the receiver. Registering Pandora is not the purpose of this app. Controlling it from anywhere in the house is the purpose.
Great app. Disappointed to see so many poor reviews. I had an Onkyo receiver blow up on me after 2 years but I stick with Pioneer because of the quality and reliability I have experienced. One is still going strong for 10 years and counting.
