METARs Aviation Weather provides a quick and convenient way to access the world's most trusted routine weather reports, the Meteorological Terminal Aviation Routine Weather Report (METAR) and the Terminal Area Forecast (TAF).
Used by pilots in their pre-flight briefing, these weather reports contain critical information about winds, visibility, clouds, temperature, and other observed and forecast weather conditions.
This application collects weather reports from METAR and TAF stations, color codes them to the appropriate flight category, then displays them in a format similar to that of a calendar, helping you to see trends at a glance.
Unique to this app is a robust alerting system, which monitors changing flight categories and notifies you based on alert conditions you choose. For example, if you want to know when your departure airport turns from IFR to VFR, tap a few settings, and you'll get an alert when the change occurs.

Unfortunate timing of aviation weather center server malfunction
When I initially purchased this app it worked great! Then all of the sudden it stopped. I assumed it was just the app and gave it a bad review... well it turns out the aviation weather centers server had a malfunction that was affecting the entire system and not an app related problem. App works great on iPhone X and iPad. A good source for aviation weather and route weather planning.

The METARs Aviation Weather App was affected by the server outage at the Aviation Weather Center. (https://www.aviationweather.gov/ ) They were down for the entire day, which is highly unusual. Now that their servers are back online, the app is collecting aviation weather reports again.
The app to have for Apple Watch!
As a commercial helicopter pilot covering large geographical areas in a VFR only helicopter, I dreamed of having a watch notification when airport of my choosing were changing from VFR to IFR, this app turns those dream into reality. Also having quick access to historical METAR data is a bonus. I’m really pleased with this app so far and the price of admission is more than fair. Great job!
I like this program!
I really like this program because of the simplicity and ease of use. What I wished it had was the ability to pick one airport and sort the others around it based on distance so I could do some recreation trip planning based on distance from my selected airport.
Ideally, I'd like to pick an airport and have it fill in all available METARs in an ever widening circle. Then have the ability to select a general destination point and have all in route show up in order.
I did have one bug where it wiped out six previously selected airports.
