If a lookup is for a known ad, tracking, malware or phishing domain, iAntiSpy answers that the domain doesn't exist, so the request fails quickly, silently and gracefully. Your information stays private. Our databases and each lookup are compared as one-way cryptographic hashes, so iAntiSpy doesn't need to know which domain you asked for. The actual domain is only held briefly in memory, to show the blocked alert and the list where you can add it to the ignore list. WILL IT SPEED UP MY BROWSING? Yes! Opening the Sydney Morning Herald's home page in Safari took 69 lookups, and iAntiSpy blocked 15 of them: more than one in five. Each of those would have loaded more tracking and analytics scripts, slowing the page down. WHY NOT A BROWSER EXTENSION? A system extension protects every app on your Mac: any browser, any version, and every other app. Many apps now report your usage to analytics servers each time you open them, and most malware contacts a server to fetch more payloads or updates.
