The Color Blind Glasses App is a useful tool for sufferers of Red/Green color blindness. A person with red-green color vision deficiency experiences the world differently because their red and green photopigments have more overlap than normal - tat is to say; there spectral overlap, which is related to how the photopigments absorb light
The Color Blind Glasses App works by isolating specific colors within the normal visual spectrum - boosting some whilst suppressing others and by doing so enabling those suffering with the most common forms of color blindness to do something they have never been able to do before; easily distinguish between colors.
In development we tested many diagnosed color blind people from all over the world and every one of the test subjects reported 100% improvements in color perception.
NOTE: this app does not correct color vision - it allows the user to discern color differences.
Using the standard Ishihara Color Test Plates (a series of colored dot patterns depicting numbers and shapes) users reported that after viewing through the app they were now able to see all plate patterns with the same results as a fully color sighted person.
***This app is intended for red/green color blind people only - it does not simulate what it is like to be color-blind and a normal sighted person will get no benefit from using this tool
For those with normal vision it will be difficult to fully grasp the significance of such a specific vision corrector – but for the color blind this app has the potential to make a huge difference.
