A summit photo for every tour Attach a photo from the top to your tour – elevation gain, distance, time and summit height go right onto it. Three designs to choose from: Logbook, Profile with your elevation line, or Stamp in a Polaroid look. One tap and it's in any chat. Part of Pro. Your photo stays on your device It is never uploaded. Sharing creates a new image – without the location stored in the photo's data. Tours at a glance A small thumbnail in the tour list shows which tour was which. Made for iPhone Duo Half open, you hold the app like a book: altitude on the left, climb rate, pressure and compass on the right – nothing sits on the fold. Fully open, the tour list and the tour with its map sit side by side.

Try Pro free for 7 days For seven days after installing, every Pro feature is unlocked: altitude calibration, climb and descent rate, barometer, compass, unlimited tours, design editor. No purchase, no payment details, no account. After that the free features remain. Distance, moving time and pace Every tour now shows how far it was. Plus moving time without the breaks, average pace, the lowest point — and how long you actually rested. All your tours at a glance A new statistics screen adds up everything you have ever recorded: total elevation gain, distance and time, your personal bests, and a breakdown by year. Share a tour as an image Elevation profile, name and the numbers that matter on one card you can send in any chat. The GPX file is still there for Strava, Komoot and Garmin. Follow along on the Lock Screen While recording, the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island show time, elevation gain and distance — without opening the app. Search and sort Search tours by name and sort by date, elevation gain, distance or duration. Import GPX Load someone else's tour and look at it with map and elevation profile. Pause automatically Optional in Settings: recording stops when nothing moves for four minutes and continues as soon as it does. Feedback from inside the app No more detour through the browser: write to us straight from Settings, in one line, about whatever is not working or missing. The way to an accurate altitude is now visible Below the altitude it says how far off it currently is — "GPS · ±12 m". Tap it and you land straight in the calibration. Before, you had to guess that the big number was tappable at all. The compass no longer hides Without Pro it simply wasn't there. Now you see it locked, like the barometer and the climb rate — so you know it exists. Pro in Settings The top row now shows whether Pro is active, how long your trial still runs, or what Pro does. Until now there was only "Restore purchases". Smaller fixes The Design tab still offered non-subscribers the old one-time purchase, and in some cases showed no button at all. And the widget labelled itself in German whatever the language.

Pause and resume a recording A break on the summit, lunch, waiting for the lift: a recording can now be paused and picked up later. The clock stops, and the break is neither booked as elevation gain nor drawn as a straight line across the map. Reopen the running tour at any time The record button now opens the running tour instead of ending it. Stopping happens inside the tour only, right next to Pause — no more tours ended by accident. Everything that matters during a tour, at a glance The running time large, ascent and current altitude beside it, plus a map and elevation profile that grow as you go. Just like on the Apple Watch. No more false starts after your three free tours Once the three free tours are used up, the record button no longer appears. Before, it could still be tapped and led nowhere. Smaller fixes In the Pro screen, the loading notice and the error message were stuck to the top edge.

Calibrate your altitude — metres instead of tens of metres Tap the altitude and enter a value you know: a summit marker, a trail sign, your own address. Or the QNH from a weather report. From then on Now Altimeter works barometrically and shows altitude to within a few metres, instead of the 10 to 30 that plain GPS gives you. New: climb and descent rate How fast are you gaining height? Vertical speed in m/min next to the air pressure — the number ski touring, mountaineering and paragliding actually think in. You can now see how accurate the reading is Below the altitude it says where it comes from: "GPS · ±12 m" or "Barometric, calibrated". No more numbers without context. Elevation gain you can trust Ascent and descent used to come from GPS altitude and collected its noise — a tour recorded while sitting still could book thousands of metres. They now come from the pressure sensor. A short intro on first launch Three pages showing what the app does — and that your first three tours are free. Widget and Apple Watch keep up The widget now shows feet if you picked feet — it always showed metres before. And the watch shows the same altitude as your iPhone, including after calibrating.

Record three tours for free No payment needed to try it out: your first three tours are free — including map, elevation profile and every number. Tour recording now continues in the background Put your iPhone away or let the screen turn off — recording keeps running without interruption until you stop it yourself. New: Apple Watch complication Your current altitude right on the watch face, circular or rectangular. Barometer and compass now on the widget and the watch For Pro users, air pressure and heading now appear everywhere, not just inside the app. Metres or feet — consistent everywhere Your unit setting now also applies to tour statistics, the elevation profile and the Apple Watch. Tours and the Watch app fully translated English, German, Spanish, French, Italian and Japanese. Now Altimeter Pro Pro is now available as a subscription with a free trial — monthly or yearly, cancel anytime. It records unlimited tours and adds the barometer, weather trend and compass. If you bought the design editor as a one-time purchase, it stays unlocked.
