With this release of MoleMapper™ we are no longer recruiting into the Mole Mapper Study. You can still continue to use the app to monitor your moles as before, but we won’t be collecting additional data from those who consented to participate in the study. We thank all those who participated and have helped us better understand the challenges associated with tracking and identifying moles. We will continue to learn from the data that have been collected and share those insights with the research community.

After listening to users for many months, we’ve made several improvements to streamline mapping your moles and to the systems that guide you. We’ve added help where you need it, hints when you need them, and sprinkled in a few coaching steps as well. Moving and resizing the circles that identify coins and moles is natural now and no longer requires “selecting” them first. We’ve also restructured some of the basic information in the app and added a new News feature which, at your discretion, allows you to receive small articles about ongoing MoleMapper™ research, links to great resources, bite-sized educational pieces, etc.

Occasionally we update the date on our consent forms. This is one of those times.

Just some minor changes (study personnel and a timestamp change) on one of the research consent documents.

We fixed the crash caused by migrating to iOS 12.

* We fixed display problems with iPhone X. * Tutorial videos have been re-done (slowed down, text descriptions added). * We revamped the mole measurement and re-measurement process to simplify it. You can fix mole and coin sizes directly on the same screen now without transitioning to a "Fix" screen. Please note that adding mole locations is now done using a long-press gesture! * We added a picture-in-picture feature with automatic magnification to help you see if your photos are sufficiently in focus. * You can now turn off the help screens between measuring steps.

We made a few little tweaks to keep some research-related documents current.

Version 3.0.2: We fixed a wee little bug we felt was important to get out sooner than later. Version 3.0.1: We fixed a few bugs that managed to sneak on board our 3.0.0 release! The calibration sequence now properly responds to taps, the consents will get emailed from the Welcome screen, and a few other minor glitches have been fixed. Version 3.0.0: We’ve made measuring moles significantly easier in this version! Using the data collected from earlier versions by users participating in the study, we’ve made measuring as simple as tapping on the images of coins and moles. This follows our changes in the 2.2 version which made it much easier to participate in the study and the War on Melanoma™. Finally, with this version we’re collecting better data (from those who choose to participate) so the science we’re enabling will be better. Thank you to everyone who is helping us with this fight against melanoma!

We've started the process of making MoleMapper easier to use. With this version, we've fixed bugs and made the process of joining the study much simpler. Thank you to all the users of earlier versions. You've helped us improve the app and the science we can do together! Stay tuned for even more exciting developments soon.
