The objective is to create melds which consists of sets of three or four of a kind of the same rank, runs, or three or more cards in sequence of the same suit. To win a hand at Indian Rummy one must require a minimum of two sequences, one of which must be "pure", that is, made without any jokers. The other sequence may contain jokers.
