Need a tip calculator? Look no further! SlyTipper will become a regularly used app for me, especially since it goes above and beyond to make tip calculating easy and quick -- and with a simply UI that resembles text messaging. After a quick one-time setup with a few basic questions, SlyTipper asks for the check total and then calculates the tip, factors in local state tax, and figures out the subtotal all by simply inputting the check's total! I love that SlyTipper gives several choices in the settings for how much to calculate for the tip (i.e. 12%-25%) and then shows tip amounts for each at once so you can quickly leave the appropriate tip and get out of the restaurant faster.I'd love to suggest that the developer implement a feature for situations when people split a check. The app could optionally ask if the check is being split and how many people are splitting, and then render calculations accordingly. This would be highly useful when friends, family, or business associates go out to eat and then need to split the check at the end. Then each person will know their share of the tax and subtotal to pay.I've always struggled with math and percentages, and now I won't have too -- but more importantly, I can feel confident that I'm leaving an appropriate tip and subtotal for the services and food I've received. No matter one's math skills, SlyTipper will truly be useful to anyone. I'll definitely be telling my friends and family! So glad this app was featured on AppAdvice today!

I find this application to just be great. Trying to add up 15%, 20% to my total at a restaurant, is unfortunately something that I struggle with at times. Math was never my strong suit, I always felt that I did much better in English in school. So, for me, this tool makes figuring out the tip at dinner incredibly easy, thank you for that. When you first start the program you click on the "Setup" button and then proceed to customize this app to your liking. By setting what percentages that you would like to be shown when you enter in a total that you want the tip amount for. Then it is just a matter of inputting that cost and the application then relays your percentage choices to choose from. It does not get much more simple than that in my opinion.The only thing that I found odd, was that in the settings there is an option to calculate a regional sales tax for your total/subtotal. And there is also an option to apparently look up your local sales tax if you do not know it currently. Yet, both of these options were non-actionable in my use. I tried to click on the box for adding a sales tax and also the button for looking it up for your state. But, as I said, neither function would work for me. Not a big deal in my opinion, but just wanted to mention this for the developer. It definitely doesn't take away from how great that I believe this program is for my needs.So, in conclusion, I just do not believe that you would be able to find a better application alternative for completing this type of task. I am very happy with everything that this program allows me to do. And I want to extend my sincere thanks and gratitude to this developer, for creating this app and also for putting it on sale today, free-of-charge. I am very grateful for that generosity. The parts I love about this app is that it is simply and easy to use. The creator/s of this app made it so there is nothing complicated about using it. You put in the information you need answered, hit the arrow and your answer appears. The quick, that simply. After playing with a lot of apps that drive you crazy using them, complicated free is great. 5 Stars!!!

It's just flat out easy to use. After a simple setup of a few option choices, you are ready to go. Sure it lacks some features that other tip calculators offer, but it is beautiful in it's simplicity. I like this app and can only see it getting better with time.
