Possible current draw issue?

I’ve had the BM2 attached to my EV6’s battery for over a year now, since I had the car towed in due to ICCU failure. It seemed to work well, but today while I was listening to the radio in the car while waiting for my wife at a hair appointment, I got a warning screen: “Battery low, come to a safe stop.” I checked the app, it said the voltage was down to 6.5 volts! So I got a guy to jump start me with his 12V battery cables, took my wife to lunch and then home, then onto my local dealer. The manager said they tested the battery, it was fine; the problem was the 3rd party voltage monitor. Its power draw, he said, could be enough to drain the battery dead. At 1.5mA, does that make any sense?

Can set custom battery voltage!

Great that custom battery voltages can be set for AGM and Lithium. I use 1 of each and this was an update I was hoping to see. I like that I can set up and monitor 2 batteries but wish I could swipe the screen left or right to see each Battery rather than having to select each battery through the setting menu. Or if both battery could be seen on a single window it would be nice. Really like the app. Get it, you will be happy you did.

AGM batteries use the same chemistry as other lead acid types.

Contrary to the original post there’s no difference in the chemistry for AGM vs. any other lead acid battery and that is what establishes the battery voltage. There are differences in the charging for various lead acid technologies to optimize the battery life but the basics are the same such as don’t discharge them below 50% capacity or about 12.2 VDC which is the point at which you get a low voltage warning with this software and hardware to optimize your battery life.
