The Sloper Climbing App brings your guide books to life with a news feed of new route activity, hardware safety issues, quality ratings, grade consensus and an interactive ascent logging and tick list creation. Premium areas include, Yosemite (CA), Kalymnos (Greece), SE Queensland (Australia), Banff and The Bow Valley (Canada), Skaha (Canada), Nevada Limestone, Ontario Climbing (Canada), Niagara Glen Bouldering (Canada), and Clear Creek Canyon (CO). The Sloper Climbing App helps keep Climbers safe and well informed by using the App to obtain and distribute hardware safety concerns to the community. When using the App, climbers will have access to Sport and Traditional climbs where they can not only log their ascents but report maintenance issues on the route's bolts and anchors. As fellow climbers use the App they will be notified of an issue as soon as it has been logged as an alert to possibly avoid climbing on that particular route. A generic name is taken
Pros: Pretty InterfaceCons: Loads extremely slowly, painfully so.Very few areasMinimal optionsNo climbs for most people in most places.No route submissions Theres no community submission option, which automatically makes this a cute attempt, but an abject failure for its purposed purpose. No company can make a successful and vast crag library without on the ground contributors. Period.Open submissions and ratings for the community, then your app will succeed.

Not a replacement for a paperback guidebook

App is not great. Downloading a guide book will fail if you don’t keep the app open or your screen turns off. Back button doesn’t work sometimes. Not super easy to navigate. App also hasn’t be updated to work with the latest iPhone models. In fact, the app hasn’t been updated in over a year…Downloaded this app because the Needles of Rushmore guidebook is out of print. I’ve climbed there before and the guidebook is the best for the area, but you can’t find a paper copy anywhere. Instead, the book’s store page links to this app. Worst part is this app charges you $5 a month to get access to the guide books. Wouldn’t be such an insult if they kept the app up to date or updated the information. I’d much rather just buy the book if I could and never use this app again.If you aren’t specifically looking for a guide book, I’d recommend using another app.

The app is very useful, but be forewarned- Apple makes it very difficult to cancel subscriptions...it should just be accessible through the app or the App Store, but you have to go into your settings, and then go to Apple ID, then to subscriptions and cancel it from there.

Very poor replacement for a guide book

This app has extremely limited information compared to a guide book. I would not recommend paying for the subscription.
