For each language, over 1,300 words and phrases are spoken in the language of the title. All words are from the books and are spoken by native speakers. Simply download the free app, then use your copy of the book to fully access audio for one of five languages: French, German, Italian, Mandarin Chinese, and Spanish. This clear and easy-to-use app contains plenty of audio content from each Phrase Book, there is audio for all the pages featuring the headphones icon. Just like the book, the vocabulary is arranged thematically, with subjects including travel and transport, food and drink, accommodation, shopping, sightseeing, and emergencies. Search for any page featuring the headphones, tap on a word to listen to it being spoken, scroll up and down the word lists for each topic, and swipe left or right to go to the next or previous page. Did not load books properly

I added the Chinese phrase book and it worked but did not show up in the library.I then tried to add Japanese both by barcode and by typing in the ISBN and neither worked after many efforts.I’m disappointed. The app needs to be fixed.

Books Never Stay Downloaded in LibraryI read a review from 4 years ago and it appears there is still the same issue. Whenever you download a book, it takes a few minutes to download. After it is complete, the book is not in the library. After exiting the app, you can still access the book you were last in, but if you download another one of your books in another language, the previous one will have to be redownloaded. It would be an easy fix. I’ve always thought highly of DK, so it’s a bit surprising they won’t update their apps like they do their books.

Books Never Stay Downloaded in LibraryI read a review from 4 years ago and it appears there is still the same issue. Whenever you download a book, it takes a few minutes to download. After it is complete, the book is not in the library. After exiting the app, you can still access the book you were last in, but if you download another one of your books in another language, the previous one will have to be redownloaded. It would be an easy fix. I’ve always thought highly of DK, so it’s a bit surprising they won’t update their apps like they do their books.

I downloaded the app onto my iPhone 12 Pro. The moment it opened, it asked for access to the camera. Once I accepted, I took a picture of the barcode of a phrase book and within a minute, I was scrolling through 150 pages of phrases. The audio works just fine.Hope it continues to work as it is now!

This app worked fine for me on the first try. I’m not sure why others are having problems, but I’m using an iPhone 7. I like the feature that it allows you to save your favorite/most needed phrases in a separate folder. One star less because sometimes it pauses for a long time to download more phrases. It seems they are short enough to download all at once and be done with it.
