With homes in 3 states it’s critical to track where we are and where we are not to avoid tax issues. This app does that very well. The one area of improvement would be to increase the reliability of recognizing the location each day. There are some days when it just does not register. If that can be improved - 5 stars.

We travel frequently between Texas and New York and this app automates tracking those travels for tax purposes. I was initially concerned by some of the negative reviews about TaxBird but decided to downloaded the app anyway (there is a free trial period before a subscription is required) and it has worked exactly as described. The typical battery consumption is less than 1% according to my iPhone and the cost of a TaxBird subscription is very reasonable as compared to others which provide similar functionality.

I’ve been a subscriber for almost five years. There was a period about one to two years ago following an iOS update that made the app very glitchy and required daily monitoring to make sure locations were being properly recorded. Since that issue was addressed the app works seamlessly in the background and does exactly what it’s supposed to do. Just set it and forget it. The effortless record keeping is a pleasure.

I purchased TaxBird to track my days in PR. In my trial period the app was able to track my days so I went ahead and purchased the app and then it never worked again. For some reason it I did not show up as subscribed. I emailed the support group and answered their questions and followed through on their suggestions but after about 4 or 5 emails - they said they couldn’t help me nor would they be able to refund my money. They told me to try and get the refund through the App Store. The app is a beta project at best and they never made any effort to refund my money. If you’re looking for an app to track days - this is not the one.
