The experience could be really great, but there are a few flaws, some greater than others. The largest flaw is that the video freezes after the “muffle” (“argument”?) near the beginning of the second scenario, with no way to continue; for this, the app is a flop. Other flaws include no consequence for wrong decisions. For example, in the first simulation, choosing the wrong greeting at the door should play the mother’s response for that wrong greeting; such as yelling and slamming the door if the app user does not announce that they are from CPS (then rewinding to the point where the greeting is selected). Also, some details aren’t clear enough to see. In the first simulation, the window does not appear to be broken but is supposed to be a threat, and the stack of tires could harbor vermin or other dangerous junk but it is not considered a threat. Once inside the house, how would anyone know that the paper is a prescription (I didn’t even see a paper)? And the “drugs” look like pixels on the table. And yet the obviously burning fire in the fireplace without a fire gate is not considered a threat. And yet none of these “threats” are significant enough to necessarily impede on the child’s wellbeing. The weapon is stored on a high shelf and might have a trigger lock. The prescription drugs might have been recently taken (they are right in front of the father). The ash tray is near where the mother was probably sitting. The boy isn’t even in the room. The baseball bat could be for the boy’s protection in case some fool comes to the door threatening to evaluate their son without announcing that they are from CPS. I always respected CPS before this training, but if this is the training then I’m starting to imagine a new Nazi regime forming.This app needs to be more robust, and for the sake of this country’s children I hope that real CPS training isn’t as shallow as this app makes it out to be.
