My husband had surgery and we stayed an extra night at hotel due to snowstorm. At the recommendation of a friend who is nurse at MGH , we decided to get dinner at flour bakery. We were not disappointed! The app was quick and easy to use. Making modifications to each order was simple . My husband had the turkey sandwich and said it was delicious. He loved the cherry cranberry chutney and the sage Mayo. I had the bacon sandwich with arugula - so delicious. We loved dinner so much that we ordered breakfast next day and lunch to go on the road back home to Connecticut . Ordering was easy and location convenient to hotel and hospital. And the food was outstanding. Everything tasted fresh. Definitely coming back when we have to go to Boston. And definitely spreading the word !!

Have only tried to order through the app two times and both times have had problems. It won’t let you order a latte, so that’s fantastic. Also, I selected one store location and it defaulted to another. Called the store to cancel and they told me I have to contact level up for a refund and they have no access to the data in order to either apply the money to another store or refund through the app. Brilliant. The in-store payment is the best, probably the only thing, of value in this app.

First off, this is not a review of the food at Flour, though I can say that is all delicious. Nor is it a review of the Boston location on Cambridge Street, but it has a wonderful staff and a great atmosphere. This is a review of the app. Despite a clean and relatively intuitive design with very good product pictures, the actual order process leaves much to be desired. At no point was I able to book a pickup time for even a hour in the future. The option was there, but not the execution. Ignoring that issue, notice that an item is unavailable is not given until checkout. Every attempt to modify the order resulted in the need to start from scratch. Otherwise, multiple orders may appear and then the cart needs to be cleared. Leaving just some items was not possible. If I hadn’t been in a time crunch while visiting someone at nearby Massachusetts General Hospital (a 3-minute walk once you take up to 15 minutes to exit the building) I would have ordered in person, giving me an opportunity to chat with the amiable staff and the pleasant clientele.

The app is a great improvement over the old version. The only thing I am seeing that may be considered a bug is that the user needs to manually view their order status on the Home Screen once it is complete to clear it. Otherwise a backlog of old completed orders need to be cleared out one by one by tapping on the egg logo. Can a fix be implemented where these clear automatically after a certain amount of time?
