As an extension of your paper tablet, the reMarkable desktop app lets you view, organize, and present your content with Screen Share. Tap into your notes from anywhere.
Expand your reMarkable universe:
Make sure to pair your paper tablet with an account at my.remarkable.com before logging in to the app. Find login details for both in Account settings on the paper tablet.
Get organized:
Use the app to create folders for collecting notebooks and files by different topics. Save one for each project, or separate your work and personal notes.
Keep track of all your work with tags. Use them to categorize documents, ebooks, or single pages. This will help you find and arrange the content on your paper tablet with Search.
You can also remove clutter by deleting any digital paper that has piled up.
Bring your paperwork with you:
- All of your content, always available.
- Import PDF and EPUB files, either with the Import button, or drag and drop.
- Use Screen Share to visualize your ideas in color on a big screen or in video meetings.
- Export to PDF, PNG, or SVG to change the file format of something you’ve sketched or written.
Take focused notes, anywhere:
Make your ideas easier to refine and share on the go. Our cloud storage service allows you to sync your content and pick up right where you left off on your paper tablet.
The selection tool lets you move, rotate, scale, or delete handwritten notes or sketches, making it easy to clean up your notes before sharing.
Use the app to create new notebooks or quick sheets, and add blank note pages to existing documents.
Type pages of notes, or quickly write out shorter lists to review and annotate later on your reMarkable.
Download the app to your Mac to make the most of your paper tablet.
Discover a new way to take notes.

Overall pretty good
Alex Sikma
I like not having google and notifications on the remarkable device itself. The pen has a very strong magnet. The refresh keeps the screen looking very clean. I like the eraser at the end of the pen. However, there’s a few things that could be improved. FIRST the app’s interface design aims too much for minimalism. Too much of a good thing. For example, there are too many items sandwiched in one menu where you ought to split menus and have two. One for “Sort By” and one for “View.” The functions are different enough for me to be lost in the app and wonder where the view section went, when it was actually hidden in the sort-by menu all along. SECOND thing I would add is support for emojis in the keyboard. Those are missing in the Remarkable product itself. I actually use emojis when I title my folders because that Should place the folder first in alphabetical hierarchy ahead of numbers. The THIRD thing I would change is I’d like to move pages from notebooks into PDFs and vice versa. But that might not be possible since these reMarkable pages are incompatible with PDFs. They don’t merge well together. The FOURTH thing I would change is adding support for pictures to the documents. I can’t add pictures from my mac and attach them to notes for some reason. Make it intuitive like dragging and dropping. FIFTH I would make page turning more easier.
Different Experience
IamElsewhere
My experience is different from these one star reviews. I have a reMarkable Paper Pro I picked up a couple months ago. I have the reMarkable app on my m4 Mini, my iPhone, and my iPad. The ability to instantly sync between all these devices is amazing and when I screen share the contents of the reMarkable live on my Mac in Teams calls for agendas, ad hoc diagrams drawn as I speak, etc. first time participants that haven't seen it gasp and ask how they can get one. This device and the iOS/MacOS sofware has become so integral to my workflow that I would replace the device without a second thought if it met with an accident or got lost. The use cases for this system are endless. Left it on my desk the other day and woke up at 2am with an idea. Woke up my iPhone at bedside, typed in my notes and went back to sleep. In the morning there they were on the reMarkable with me totally forgetting I had even woken up. Yes the hardware is stupidly expensive and the color e-ink updates can be a little sluggish, but technology will catch up. I am looking forward to all the hardware and software advances that will come along by the time I am read to buy my second device. Which I will. The only thing I ask is reMarkable...PLEASE don't start ensh**tifying your products like so many companies start doing. Keep them clever and simple like right now.
Good - a few important features missing
Jeff0001
I’ve been a remarkable 2 user for several years. Overall the Mac app works well but some important features missing that I’d like to see:1) Ability to move a page from one notebook to another from within the desktop app (seems you can only do this on the remarkable device itself which is a weird limitation)2) Ability to draw or erase on a page from within the desktop app (sometimes you are reading just need to clean up a page or add something small and don’t have the device nearby)3) Ability to show the template not just the content in the desktop app. I really don’t understand why there is no way to show the template in the desktop app! Depending on the template, showing content without the content makes the content make no sense! It’s a very strange omission in my opinion.4) Sometimes I type notes on my computer during zoom meetings directly in the remarkable desktop app. I wish there was an option for a smaller remarkable text only editor window that wouldn’t take up as much screen real estate than the full display of the page. Ability to toggle between the text entry view and the page view.
Please Update Desktop App!

Hi! I haven't left a review yet. I have had this remarkable2 tablet for about 3 years now and I absolutely love it. I recently have been having issues I finally got my tablet and moble app to reconnect but still nothing is loading for the desk top application. I recently had a job changeand I am about to do a lot more remote work and would like to use the desk top app more so I can multitask better. I see the last update was a month ago please see if we can fix this. I sent a message to support with pictures of the same thing I see now. No response but I got the email to leave a review so here I am. I use this tablet for everything from personal to work and would highly recommend this for people who like to be mire unplugged. It is fantastic.
General improvements and bug fixes.
