An expert system to connect and use your older Wacom tablet with newer macOS versions - as simple as that!
Connect my tablet is doing exactly that: It connects your Wacom (TM) tablet to your Mac and restores at least its critical functionality to be creative with Photoshop (TM) and other programmes in Golden Gate, Tahoe, Sequoia, Sonoma, Ventura, Monterey, Big Sur, Catalina, Mojave, HighSierra (newest Connect my tablet version) & Sierra and El Capitan (App Store will download automatically for you the last compatible version 4.1 upon purchase).
For many models and macOS versions, the Wacom preference pane, and therefore most previous functionality, will be working again.
For others, Connect my tablet provides a tool to let you change the most important pen and tablet settings. Connect my tablet also allows the change of settings of the tablet buttons for Cintiq (21 upwards) and Intuos3 tablet users. In addition, we have an additional, free tool (CMT Utility) for Bamboo CTH users on the App Store that allows them to change their tablet button settings.
Also, for the oldest tablets, the Utility programme from Wacom is no longer supported in the latest macOS versions. It was mainly useful to create backups of the preference settings. Our additional utility tool (see above) allows you to save and restore them (for Bamboo CTH users and some Graphire and Intuos tablets).
As you might have to install and de-install tablet drivers, you will have to have full admin rights on your computer.
Currently Connect my tablet supports and is tested on:
Bamboo: including CTH-460/461/470/661/670, CTL 460/470, MTE-450, CTE-440/450/650 , CTF-430
Intuos: including USB GD and XD series (0 and 2 series); Intuos3 PTZ-430/431/630/631/930/1231W; CTH-series; Intuos4 PTK-440/640/840/540WL/1240, all other Intuos CTL (e.g. 4100), Intuos5 and Pro tablets ( PTH/PTK tablets)
Graphire: 2 (ET series),3 (Sapphire, CTE-430/630) and 4 (CTE-440/640) series
Cintiq: including 12WX, 18SX, 20WSX, 21UX, 21UX2, 13HD, 22HD, 24HD, 27QHD, DTU-2231, Cintiq 16 & 22 and others
But it works for many more Wacom tablets (like One by Wacom) and you can always ask us at enquiry@wptrnpt.co.uk. Actually, the only tablets that we do not support are the ones still supported by Wacom: the new Wacom One series, latest Wacom Cintiq Pro models DTH 167, 172, 227, 271 and Intuos Pro PTK-470, 670 & 870, Wacom Movink & Signature Display models and very old serial connected tablets.
Current setting options for those tablets that not only need reconnection (and then their preference pane works again) but also require settings to be changed via Connect my tablet:
• Tablet/ Stylus connected
• One group of settings for all applications (although with different backups you can be application specific)
• Pen Pressure Sensitivity selectable
• Pen Buttons programmable (keystrokes, modifiers, clicks)
• Eraser programmable
• Double click assistance can be switched off/on
• Definition of the active tablet area
• Definition of the active monitor (currently for up to 3 monitors)
• Definition of the pen/stylus to switch to mouse mode from pen mode
• Change of tablet landscape orientations or to portrait mode (some tablets)
• Pan (Pan/Scroll) mode for pen buttons (for most tablets)
• Definition of tablet buttons (Intuos3, Cintiq 21UX upwards via the reactivated preference pane, Bamboo CTH via an additional tool)
• Functionality to disable pen buttons via Settings Menu and to assign 'Click'

It worked! UPDATED 2025

My ancient Bamboo Fun tablet from 2007 had been getting increasingly wonky on MacOS. I was often reinstalling drivers, unplugging and plugging back in, etc. but finally, it was unfixable altogether by every method I tried. Finally I found this app. The process was a little tedious and the first round failed, but the troubleshooting round worked and now my tablet's functional again! Woohoo!! I feel immense relief because I really did not want to throw away my perfectly good tablet due to some stupid software issue. Thank you!UPDATE 2025: I recently got a new MacBook Pro, and my tablet (still my ancient 2007 Bamboo Fun) got weird again. I went through this app’s troubleshooting process, but failed… so I reached out to customer support, and Uwe (the developer) went above and beyond to be an awesome human being, so unexpected and wonderful in the age of AI chatbots. He was SUPER patient in walking me through everything step by step, looking at screenshots of my specific setup to give me advice, and trying out new things when stuff didn’t work. Finally, after 2 weeks of emailing back and forth (I’m amazed and impressed that he stuck with it for that long, not giving up on me), we finally figured it out, and now my tablet works like normal again! He has saved me from needing to purchase a new tablet (again). Great app and incredible customer support!

I’ve used an Intuos 2 tablet on my Mac mini for years, without a hiccup. I’m currently running High Sierra and a couple days ago the tablet suddenly went dark. No signal, no response. I had made no upgrades or modifications to my system, so I was befuddled. Assuming I needed an updated driver I went to Wacom and tried to download and install one compatible with my system. No go. It downloaded but wouldn't install, no matter how I adjusted my security settings. Apple doesn’t trust unidentified developers even if they’re old standards like Wacom. So I went to the App Store and ran across Connect my tablet. The directions are detailed and clear, and following them to the letter is imperative. I thought I had, but apparently still had remnants of an old driver standing in the way. So I sent a help email and the response by Uwe in the UK was IMPRESSIVE beyond words. He never lost patience for a moment (I could learn from him!) and guided me to a successful installation of the appropriate driver, into a spanking clean system. My Wacom is on the road again! Uwe, I don’t know how you keep your cool with people who manage to flub up as I did. But this app and your SUPERLATIVE customer care makes this a hands-down BARGAIN to keep your tablet functional, no matter what technology does to ditch our trusted tools! Uwe rocks and I’m rolling! This app WORKS and I could not be more grateful.

And reviews like yours are the prime reason why we keep improving Connect my tablet and do not mind that it is a niche app. We wish you all the best and are very happy that we could make another creative and hard working artist happy too! "When I bought a new computer for my classes, I wanted to install my tablet thinking that it would help me a lot in my classes, great it was my surprise that when I went to install it, the drives were not compatible with my new computer, several times I tried to do the upgrade of the drivers. Still, as much I tried, my frustration was bigger until I found the app (connect my tablet) to install it. Still, there was something that I did not know very well about the Security System of my computer that makes me unable to install this drawing tablet. In the instructions in-app instructions, a message allowed me to ask for help; I quickly wrote them asking for help, thinking that I never will get an answer. Still great was my surprise that the next day, a message offered me help to install the tablet; my frustration was bigger at that time. I decided to give up and leave the tablet. The next day, I found to Uwe Huedepohl he offered to contact me via email and install it. Uwe sent me an invitation to use Zoom. For more than an hour, we worked together installing my step by step my tablet, and my joy grew so great that I get to estimate the help Uwe to install the tablet greatly. In the end, we exchanged some concerns with him as Biochemist and me as a Biologist; we shared the same interest and showed ourselves through the camera some memories that we preserve. Uwe was a very professional person and worthy of admiration for your selfless help. I will not be tired of recommending to my colleagues in the education department in NY and let them know about that selfless help. I have also found a great person and friend. Thank you, Uwe, that was a great experience.

Thank you sooo much for your wonderful feedback and rating! This app makes not only our users happy but us too. It saves our users money, lets them keep working with their favourite tool, saves waste and - gives us often wonderful, personal experiences with our great users. Each one of them is special and sometimes we have the opportunity to meet them in person and make new friends. We are doing rarely direct meetings and typically use email when necessary, but in all our interactions we learn something to make Connect my tablet better in the next version. Thank you again very much and we admire that you have resurrected your tablet to give your students in these testing times an even better learning experience! Our best wishes!
Intuos 3 working with Catalina!!!!!!!!

I finally got my new 2020 MacBook Pro set up and then found that my trusty Intuos 3 PTZ-630 was not supported in Catalina (it was working with High Sierra on my older MacBook Pro and it didn’t occur to me research the compatibility since the table had been functioning perfectly for 13 years). I did a lot of googling and had almost resigned myself to forking over another $400 for a new tablet when I stumbled upon a reddit post with a link to Connect my tablet. My tablet was so unusable I figured it was worth spending $10 to try to resurrect it before making a large unplanned purchase. After following all the steps to clear out old Wacom driver files, the new driver installation failed over and over. I worked through all the troubleshooting several times and eventually had to email support to figure out what was going wrong. It took almost a week of back and forth emails to finally delete some stubborn kext files and some leftover bits of malware that had migrated to the new computer from my old computer. I also made a few mistakes when I was directed to go into Terminal to execute some commands (I am a designer, not a programmer, oops). Uwe was helpful and professional and guided me through the whole troubleshooting process—he totally earned that $10 a few times over. Finally the installation was successful and my old Intuos is working fantastically. The whole process did take a while, but support is in the UK and I’m in Ohio, so we had to work around the timezone difference. I’m glad I took a chance on this app and I plan to tell other artists and designers about it so they can save money and keep their beloved Wacom hardware out of landfills too.

Thank you very much for your kind and motivating review :)! Your 'case' was quite unusual but with your and our persistence we also could resolve it :). Connect my tablet (sometimes with our additional experience) is now connecting each and every supported tablet - unless of course the hardware is damaged. But at least we can find that out for our users and save them frustrating time. However, the Wacom tablets are so robust, that this happens only for 1 in around 400 tablets. We are very happy to be able to help even in 'tough nut' cases. We wish you all the best and lots of success with your reconnected tablet!
We are happy to present version 5.8 of Connect my tablet to you – covering thousands of combinations of various Wacom tablets with macOS Golden Gate, Tahoe, Sequoia, Sonoma, Ventura, Monterey, Big Sur, Catalina, Mojave, High Sierra, Sierra and El Capitan. Compatible with iMacs, MacBook Pros, MacBook Air, Mac Minis, Mac Pros or Mac Studios – Intel or Silicon M(x) chip macs. Connect my tablet is a very efficient expert system - based on more than 8 years of experience of connecting older Wacom tablets, that now are unsupported. Step by step instructions lead you safely to connection; extensive troubleshooting helps you should not all be going as well as planned- and if all fails - just contact us for help at enquiry@wptrnpt.co.uk!
