Somehow in my digital media journey I got my files organized in folders with YYYY-MM-DD naming conventions. No depth below that. That's not that uncommon actually. Nobody offered that in an app. Oh, and some were specific to still photos. Others, were tailored to videos. Still others wanted to be the Swiss-Army app of video and image touch up and transfer was almost an after thought. Some apps wanted to generate a catalogue of files. I had a program that worked under earlier MAC OS versions, but, needed something that worked now. Something as easy as media transfer was turning into a mess. Until this developer offered the file naming in the hierarchy that I wanted, in an app that's simple and easy to use. Very refreshing to have a responsive app developer. Thank you!

Filled a HUGE need

This is an amazing little app that filled a HUGE hole for me; organizing my photos and videos in a useable file structure. In very little time at all, PhotoFiler took 5 years of photos from SONY and CANON DSLR's and placed them in chronological order. This would have taken me years to do manually - and I am talking nearly 300 GB of photo and video files. Most importantly, the output files were identical to the originals, no mattter JPG or RAW. A must have for all amatuers to professional photographers.

The ability to add user definable tags to all my photos and videos make this a really neat way of archiving and searching. Do a wedding shoot, add tags for Wedding, Name, Location, Favourite shots etc. Brilliant. Then search for the file by tag and upload it directly to the photo-editing app.I found out that you can also search for the tags within FInder using Spotlight.

We have 2 cameras and 3 smart phones in the family and we are always forgetting on who’s machine and where we had stored the photos. Now they are all neatly archived in date order on our family server. Very quick and easy to use.

Bug fix - now custom date filter ranges work correctly. Custom dates can be set manually in Settings or by dragging in the Date Bar.
