Mind map and knowledge network in 3D: link notes, files and ideas without limits – with whiteboard, Kanban, timeline and AI control. Stored locally on your Mac.
The infinite mind map for your Mac: millions of connected ideas in a single file.
Traditional mind mapping tools hit their limits at 50 to 100 nodes and force you into a rigid tree. InfoRapid KnowledgeBase Builder is a true knowledge network for personal knowledge management and your digital "second brain": any item can be linked to any other, every connection carries its own label, and your database grows to millions of entries without becoming cluttered. Just like in Google Earth, you always see exactly the area you are interested in – a double-click brings any item to the center.
SPECTACULAR 3D VIEW
Experience your knowledge in space: the interactive 3D view arranges your network as a sphere, an orrery or a planetarium. Fly from item to item with smooth camera moves, or let presentation mode take you on a guided tour – perfect for talks, teaching and videos.
WHITEBOARD, MIND MAP AND KANBAN IN ONE APP
Start freely on the whiteboard: ideas, notes and tasks float on an infinite canvas. As your thoughts take shape, arrange them as a mind map with one click – or as a Kanban or Scrum board for projects and tasks. Drag a card into the next column with your mouse or trackpad and its status follows automatically.
TIMELINE FOR DATES AND DEADLINES
Give every item a start, end, due date, status, priority and owner. The timeline shows your whole project at a glance; drag a bar with the mouse or trackpad to reschedule, click it to open the item.
EVERY DIAGRAM TYPE, AUTOMATICALLY ARRANGED
Connect items by drag and drop and label every relationship. One click arranges the whole network radially, symmetrically, hierarchically or as a table. Create mind maps, concept maps, flowcharts, org charts, family trees and even mathematical formulas (LaTeX). The app can also draw flowcharts straight from pseudocode.
NOTES, RICH TEXT AND ATTACHMENTS
Every item holds more than a title: formatted notes with tables, checklists and links to other items. Attach PDFs, Word and Excel files, images or web links directly – with automatic previews.
FULL-TEXT SEARCH INSIDE YOUR DOCUMENTS
The lightning-fast search finds not only item names but also the text in your notes and attached documents.
AI CONTROL
Describe what you want – "Create an overview of the planets" – and an AI assistant builds the diagram before your eyes. The connection uses the open Model Context Protocol (MCP), is switched off by default, and every step of the assistant can be undone with a single click.
WIKIPEDIA, WIKIDATA AND OBSIDIAN IMPORT
Search Wikipedia or Wikidata right inside the app and turn entire articles, including their relationships, into a ready-made mind map. Text analysis automatically extracts the key terms from your own texts. Complete Obsidian vaults can be imported, too.
CATEGORIES, TAGS AND FILTERS
Group items by color and topic and hide entire branches with a single switch.
ALSO INCLUDED

Innovative & Cost-Effective

I've tried a variety of mind-mapping applications over the years, and nothing on the market now compares to KnowledgeBase Builder. This one-of-a-kind program appeals to me for a variety of reasons. The user interface has a modest learning curve, but an introductory animation helps you become familiar with it quickly. Once you've mastered the UI, mapping becomes intuitive. The freedom to move the nodes enables one to group related concepts and better grasp the data. The nodes may be any color, and the lines that join them can be filled with additional information. Also, exploring the nodes in a 3D space is innovative and makes it easy to cross-connect ideas. The text analysis engine, which automatically detects and highlights keywords inside a text block, is another innovative function. These keywords are turned into nodes that include excerpts from the text block. You can automatically map articles or large portions of text with one click, a feature other expensive applications lack. The program may result in enormous productivity benefits with a few minor improvements. Among these suggestions is the option to hide nodes and their children or develop a wireframe view to improve application responsiveness. Mapping hundreds of nodes slows down the software. Although the program never crashes, I would like it to be quick and responsive when mapping hundreds of nodes.Another area for improvement is the text analysis engine. Although the engine does a great job of detecting keywords, it could improve what words it selects to highlight. Some terms that get highlighted are stop-words or irrelevant, resulting in excessive node population. This analysis feature is convenient and very helpful and could become a top-selling feature once the algorithm is more finely tuned.Overall, KnowledgeBase Builder is a great software to help anyone map their notes, etc. I highly recommend this software for its wide range of features and ability to analyze and organize information. Keep up the excellent work, Ingo Straub!
Impressive!

The price point is perfect. Other than mindmapping and visual thinking, I see many uses for this easy-to-use tool: presentation, learning, visual database, timeline, idea development... The deciding feature is the ability to write mathematical expressions. The syntax to do that is easy (but would be nice if it were LaTeX :)I also purchased the iOS version and use the iCloud to work the same file between Mac and iPad.Großartige Software! Gute Arbeit und vielen Dank!
SAD :(

I really gave this app a chance, but it was very disappointing. 1. Images get stretched and blurry. 2. You can't move anything; everything overlaps, and horizontal words get blurry if you zoom out. 3. Almost 19 layout options, but they are all awkward, and connections end up behind others in the wrong place. 4. You cant import maps from other apps. 5. Whatever you create in this app will come out blurry when exported. I love mind maps, they help me organize ideas and understand complicated concepts, but this app frustrates me. Btw... after 9 years of developing the app, you can't make a Manual or a Guide?, where people can search for answers.
Developer Response
Just increase the zoom factor to 150% or 200% before you export the diagram. This will increase the resolution of the exported image, so that it doesn’t look blurry. The overlapping occurs because of the view perspective. You can adjust the perspective and the mean distance between the items in the Adjust View menu. And you can position each item manually, if you’re not satisfied with the automatic layout. And there are YouTube manuals on my channel which show you how you can easily import MindMaps from outlined text files. Hope that helps you to get a basic understanding of the app. Btw: If you use a zoom factor of 100 percent, nothing looks blurry. Could it be that you have changed the screen resolution settings in MacOS?
great, but it can become massively Greater

it would be better if a developer is able to distinguish between collections it would be great: groups, and categories (set of groups) so that one can implement more sophisticated objects, using newly formed groups and categories. It would also and definitely help in clearing out things, by declutter wring terms ( i.e. seperating old terms from new to learn terms), besides leveling up, building more structures on top of old ones would be a piece of cake, and a walk in the park. Thanks forwards for reading mt suggestions, I know you will do your best in such endeavors.
