This mobile battery application was developed to enable remote monitoring of study participants using sensors in an iPhone and an Apple Watch. It includes a symptom diary and a set of tasks to evaluate speech, walking, balance, and upper-limb coordination, similar to those included in standard clinical examinations such as the Friedreich's Ataxia Rating Scale (FARS) and the Scale for the Assessment and Rating of Ataxia (SARA).
This application uses parts of Apple's HealthKit and CareKit for sensor recording on the iPhone and Apple Watch. We appreciate your participation as we collect these important data to improve understanding of Ataxia.
