Ratings and Reviews
Best noise app period!
Dark Noise is by far the best noise app you can buy on the App Store. There are a lot of noises to choose from and the developer even recorded almost half of them from real environments. There is no annoying jilt when the track ends to start again like on other competitor’s apps. Dark Noise flawlessly loops the tracks so you get lost in your work and don’t even realize you’re listening to - an air conditioner (or your background noise of choice). This app is worth every penny and in my opinion, under priced! Highly recommend!
Sound quality is off
I agree with scampercom about the sound quality being off. The sounds sound thinned out. I use in-ear headphones (not Apple’s) to help blocked out co-workers when trying to concentrate. I usually listen to music but sometimes that can get tiresome and I prefer white noise. This app, though I really like the selection, probably wouldn’t help. The sound quality from other apps like Noisli and Noizio are better, with Wildfulness being the absolute best with 3D sound. I can mix sounds with Noisli but the app hasn’t been updated in a year or so and you can hear the looping. Noizio is updated, has more sounds than Noisli, but you can hear the looping and it requires so many in app purchases to expand the library. Wildfulness, Wildfulness 2, and it’s 3rd counterpart Sonas Island (or something like that) has beyond amazing sound quality. You can hear the looping with a few sounds but it’s biggest flaw for me is the lack of variety. It’s ALL nature sounds. There are other apps I have tried but most were unnecessarily complicated or not worth mentioning. This app is good for it’s simplicity, ease of use, features, and variety, but unfortunately not it’s sound quality.
Simple, easy and attractive
This is all you could want in a sound machine app. There a enough customizable options for those interested, yet the default is simple enough for those of us just wanting an easy reliable sound machine while we sleep. The simple design, ease of navigation, and the plentiful customizations add up to the best sound machine app out there!
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
