DID YOU KNOW?
Current keyboards are based on the 140-year-old mechanical typewriter layout. Typewise is different. It’s the first keyboard that is specifically designed for smartphones. It’s revolutionary yet easy to use, and after a couple of messages you’ll love it.
4X FEWER TYPOS
A recent study with 37,000 participants showed that on current keyboards 1 out of 5 words contains typos. With Typewise you finally get rid of these ARRGGHH-moments. Thanks to the hexagon layout, keys are 70% larger and much easier to hit. It helps you to make four times fewer typos.
AI POWERED KEYBOARD
All your editing needs are now met in one keyboard. It features the ability to translate, proofread, adjust tonality, shorten, extend and create inclusive language with just one click.
INTUITIVE GESTURES
Swipe up to capitalize a letter, swipe left to delete or swipe right to restore. It's as simple as that.
SMART AUTOCORRECT
Stop getting annoyed by wrong autocorrections or senseless predictions. Typewise learns what you type and helps you write that perfect sentence.
100% PRIVACY
What you write is personal. That's why the keyboard does NOT require “full access” and none of your typing data is transmitted to the cloud.
To improve tutorial, game and settings in the app, we rely on basic and anonymous usage tracking, which can be turned off completely using the offline mode feature. The keyboard itself is not tracked at all.

Much smarter way to type on a touchscreen (+fun idea)
DrQuack1000
I was very happy to discover this keyboard, because it actually uses the different gestures a touchscreen has beyond just tap, and puts those gestures to really good use. It also looks cool. However, it still has a couple bugs:>New major one that just started happening: the GUI freezes when switching to and from special characters and emoji, but still types and works (UPDATE: My fault, I forgot to update the app was the problem)>Occationally crashing, causing the phone to kick over to the default keyboard, but also starting back up automaticallyBasic lacking features:>emoji search>>(But does pin most used)Suggestions:>Move cursor up and down as well as left and right when holding space>A cool way to add a whole other use to the keyboard is AI to perhaps write for you or suggest entire responses>Touchscreen’s first keyboard with customizable buttons and even layout>Fun one: After experiencing the UI freezing, a cool idea came to my head for those who become very used to the keyboard to where they no longer have to look at it to type: A stylistic option to completely remove the button labels, so you just have a pad of hexagons you use to type like an alien who’s too smart for a *labeled* control panel!

Great keyboard, well worth paying for the premium

I've been using Typewise for a couple of years now and will never go back to the original iOS keyboard. Pros: The larger keys, the ability to swipe up for capitals or lowercase, backspace by swiping left, and move the cursor from the keyboard are all features I can't live without now. The auto-complete suggestions are fine and I love that you can long press to remove a word from the dictionary! Stability has generally improved over the years I've used this app, with fewer crashes than when I first began using it. In the beginning, accidentally hitting the spacebar was an annoying issue, but a while back, they made it so that you could move the spacebar down to the bottom which helped a LOT. I was going to add something about the spacebar sensitivity still being wonky. I was having to keep it on high to even have those taps register, and that led to accidental spacebar presses, but I just switched it back down to medium and, wow, I guess they fixed it at some point!Minor issues: I did turn off auto-correct due to some bugginess in certain text fields, but the native iOS keyboard has the same issues. The ease of typing on a larger keyboard makes up for any speed you might lose from turning on auto-correct.Trying to swipe up on certain top row letters, like I or Y, can be hit or miss, so I wish there was more clearance between the top row and the auto-complete bar- there's a lot of real estate at the bottom, they could easily move it down a bit.

A few big flaws holding this back

Tucking four symbols used at various frequencies each with different gestures is a weird anti-pattern for simplicity. Vibration as a premium feature is a bummer and to me the only thing premium is worth. The TW logo to the left of the smart bar is not good at all and the premium undo feature is not a suitable substitute. Turning off the smart bar locks you out of being able to undo autocorrect. Words like i'm don't get capitalized and contractions like cant don't get an automatic apostrophe but the word "don't" does. The word i never gets autocapitalized. The word autocorrect, a word used multiple times inside the configuring interface, gets autocorrected to "a incorrect". The word autocorrected gets converted to "a uncorrected". There is only so much more customizability this needs in order to be perfect, and the allure of bigger, harder to mistype keys is not worth the compromises. How do i close this keyboard even?Edit as a response to the developer:I just want the logo to be a little bit smaller. It’s huge. And tapping above the screen doesn’t work sometimes like even editing this review. I still have major problems with the symbols layout and the lack of customizabilty. I still feel as if even after only the changes you’ve mentioned the premium price of the pro features still can’t justify the main selling point - bigger and harder to mistake buttons.

Hi sharkverse, thank you for your feedback! The logo serves as a menu butto to access some features like the tutorial or changing a language. We will take your feedback into consideration if we represent it in a form different from the logo. We are working on an update to fix the capitalization issues and wil release it soon. You can close the keyboard by tapping on the screen above the keyboard. Hope this helps! Cheers, your Typewise Team
So different! But...

Its so cool to have a new keyboard style, who would dare venture outside of qwerty? I love the concept, but the placements of the keys have me reaching further up and down then ever, now i have 5 rows of letters. I find it harder to hop up and down (as you will need to do with this app) then left and right. Also, the number keys are never going to be used in such an awkward format? Why add the 4 at the end of the row after 123? It’s a totally unnecessary pattern change, kind of like revising the English language from the word “yes” to “yeshk”. But this is where the fun part is of the whole Typewise language, making typing a new thing like driving stick shift for the first time. The K definitely needs to be swapped with the L! Haptic feed back is a little generic as well, where as using the phones native keyboard, there’s a beautiful tapping vibration, here, the vibration is too long. The range in adjusting the strength is wayyyy to large. Just light, med, and strong would do I think. I use this for fun and support for adventurers like Typewise! But in a serious conversation or business email, QWERTY is king. They should have a race from a fast texter vs a fast Typewiser. That would be the showcase of this product. BATTLE ROYALE!
Developer Response
Thanks for your review. 😇 Studies have proven that 1 of 4 words typed with QWERTY on smartphones contain typos. A reason for that is that there is a lot of wasted space between the keys. That's why we developed 70% larger honeycomb keys that are easier to hit. 😊 For number rows, it is something that has been suggested already on the platform. If you want, you can vote for it and be notified once ready: https://suggestions.typewise.app/suggestions/65500/ 👍
