Utah is hypocritical. They want clean air and minimize taxation in a state that is proud to be libertarian? Yet they force drivers that try to help ease the pollution in Salt lake to pay extra taxes because they use less fuel? The app itself is not very accurate, I drive completely under the speed limit and can’t get a 100 rating? I’m basically forced to use this app because the alternative is to just blindly pay for something that really isn’t fair for people trying their best to help in issues we have here in Utah. Now I have an app that is tracking my driving and give that data to the state. I still fuel my car because it’s a hybrid and now pay for each mile I drive in addition. Horrible! And for what? So UDOT can dig up my roads that don’t need repair and create more and more traffic. I wouldn’t mind if it partially went to roadwork or even into education, but this is just a cash cow for the state. Time to vote these hypocrites out of office and reward people who are trying to do their part to help the environment and the state. I guess if you download this app it is probably because you have to. The alternative is to just help fill the cash pot for the state.

The customer service folks who support this program and app have absolutely no idea what is going on. The app is HORRENDOUS, I’ll just pay the extra to the state (which, by the way, is ludicrous but not the apps fault). I’d strongly encourage anyone interested in doing this program to give up now and just pay the extra - you’ll thank me later for this advise I assure you.

So far it’s interesting. I like that I can distinguish work driving from personal driving. I can’t figure out, though, what I need to change to get 100 for my driving average. I can get a rating of 100 for acceleration, braking, cornering and speed but only get an overall rating of 80. I think someone doesn’t understand how to find the average. Same thing with the calculation of my overall trip speed. Unless time stopped is also being logged as trip speed there is no reason why a journey where I spend most of my time at 30mph or 70 mph should average out at 30 mph or less unless time stopped is counted as 0 mph and taken as part of the average. That seems odd. Just my opinion though. Is there a video somewhere explaining how it all works and the math behind it? I would be curious to see it.

what can you expect? while mouthbreathing boomers may have an issue understanding how a government may want to provide economic incentives to drive less, and that results in cleaner air, as an app it's general by simple. to be fair, i'd rather see more money v invested in bb public transport, but prying these simpletons out of their gender affirming Orphan Smasher 9000 lifted pickup truck is going to be next to impossible. so i guess this suffices for now. baby steps.
