Description

Monitor your iPhone battery level from your wrist.

Juice Watch is a simple app designed to do two things well:

• Show the battery level of the paired iPhone in a complication on Apple Watch

• Deliver a notification on your iPhone when your Apple Watch is charging and gets above 90% (or whatever level you choose, from 50% to 100%)

Just glance at your wrist to monitor the charge of your iPhone throughout the day. Or, keep tabs on the battery level of your iPhone while it is plugged in and charging in another room.

You can see both your iPhone and Apple Watch battery levels on the same complication.

You can also get a notification on your Apple Watch when the paired iPhone is charging and reaches at least 80% (or whatever level you choose, from 50% to 100%).

You can set up low battery notifications, to get notifications when your Apple Watch or iPhone battery is low.

Juice Watch is available for a wide variety of complications, so you can use it on your favorite watch faces.

You can also use this app to check your Apple Watch battery level from your paired iPhone. This can be useful while your Apple Watch is charging somewhere else.

Keep in mind that the iPhone battery level shown on Apple Watch is not real-time. It is refreshed periodically, about every 5–60 minutes. The Apple Watch battery level shown on the paired iPhone refreshes at approximately the same rate.

As of iOS 17 and watchOS 10, Juice Watch reports battery levels rounded to the nearest 5% since that's now the granularity that Apple makes available to apps.

Potential but not always accurate

This app has great potential but it’s accuracy is not great. I’ve caught it several times where it doesn’t update for 5 minutes or more. For example my phone will be at 82% charge and this app says 87% and my Apple Watch Ultra will be at 94% but the app still says 98% and charging when I took the Watch off the charger 5 minutes ago. If an app is not accurate it’s worthless to me. Great idea, if it worked accurately.

Edited to add I found out this is an Apple design problem as Apple limits the times an app can update its complication to preserve battery life.

Developer Response ,

Yes, unfortunately the behavior you’re describing is due to the limitations of iOS and watchOS. I have worked hard to make this app update as frequently as possible and I’ve tried to make it the best-performing app of its kind.

Phenomenal

I like to give credit when credit is due. This app is phenomenal. I was looking for a way to check my phone battery when streaming Netflix or World Cup without leaving the actual video. There does not seem to be a native way to do this from the watch, so enter this app, which not only works for that, but also offers more like customizable complications and battery level alerts for both devices! The complication is so good that I replaced the native battery level app on my watch home face with the one offered by this app. At a glance of my watch, I now know the battery levels of both devices, whether I’m away from my phone or streaming videos. Truly valuable and spectacular idea and implementation here. Thanks Developer!

Thank you so much for the nice review! I put a lot of time and care into this app, so it’s great when people recognize that

Does not work

After installing this app on my phone and watch, I received a fully charged alert once my watch reached 98%. However, after receiving this first notification immediately after installing the app, Juice Watch has failed to work correctly. When I charge my watch to full battery, no notifications appear. The only way I’ve found to get the notifications to trigger is to open the Juice Watch app on both my watch and phone at the same time. Once I do that, all of the sudden Juice Watch realizes that the watch’s battery is full and sends the notification. But at that point the notification is useless because I have to observe that my watch is at full battery prior to opening the Juice Watch app in order to fire the notification. To troubleshoot, I put Juice Watch into the Favorites Dock on my watch as well as the complication on the active watch face, but this had no effect.

Bottom line: Juice Watch does not send fully charged notifications unless the app is open on both the watch and the phone.

That is not normal behavior, and the app is working fine for many happy users. Please read the User Guide: Tips & Tricks section of the app for suggestions to get it working, or contact me directly at juicewatch@ganotis.com if you need additional help.
