Your favorite events now have a place to call home. Save them with one tap and find them all in your favorites list. Don’t want to keep every date in your head? Turn on reminders, and we’ll let you know when it’s almost time. If a screen is having a bad day and doesn’t load, one tap gives it another chance. All that, plus a few smaller refinements, is waiting for you in Folkradio 2.4.0.

Empty boxes have received a major visual redesign: they’re now invisible. Event, gallery, lyrics, news, and recording pages no longer show sections when there’s nothing useful to put in them. Missing details and blank links now politely stay out of the way. The Hungarian Heritage House has joined our supporters on the About screen, complete with a tappable logo. Contacting us also works more reliably with your preferred email app. We polished radio playback handling and made our optional usage statistics more accurate. Mostly invisible improvements—which, coincidentally, is this update’s theme.

Version 2.2.0 brings full system-adaptive dark mode across every screen, navigation element, icon, player, privacy view, and web-based news or event page. We also aligned the social buttons, improved handling for missing source information, and rescued the Quiz book icon from the asset dimension. It is still Folkradio, but it no longer lights up a dark room like a small stadium.

Privacy has entered the chat. We now ask before collecting usage statistics. “Yes” is helpful, “no” is perfectly fine, and the app promises not to take it personally. You can change your mind anytime from the refreshed About screen, where our privacy policy now also has a proper home. We’ve added anonymous crash reporting, so when the app trips over its own shoelaces, it can tell us where it fell. Behind the scenes, we reorganized a heroic amount of code and updated our dependencies. Ideally, you’ll notice absolutely none of that—which is how we know it worked.

We’ve retuned the Folk Calendar! Events now arrive more reliably, line up neatly in chronological order, and the monthly and map views no longer dance to different tunes. Event images, details, and sharing have also received a thorough tune-up. Fewer missteps, more plans you can count on.
