This app mimics the function of a binocular indirect ophthalmoscope (BIO) to obtain a view of the retina. It also has a camera function to save retinal images.
This app provides a BIO-like view with an iPhone placed in a VR headset and used with a 20 diopter lens positioned in front of the eye. Photos of retinal views can be taken with the app's camera function. Camera settings can be manually adjusted to obtain optimal results. Retinal photos are saved in a rounded and horizontally reversed format, to match appearance of the traditional retinal fundus photo. The image is time and date stamped for documentation purposes.
