I had great results with this app, but don’t think of it like your normal carving. Once you clean out the pumpkin, tape the downloaded pic you’ve created onto the pumpkin, poked holes around the facial feature - then - use a small Dremel Tool to carefully carve out the white parts, leaving the black areas untouched. After a botched pumpkin (or two!) the results can be astonishing!(Use the battery operated tea lights instead of traditional candles and you can safely take it inside - and in or out - it’ll last much longer then a traditionally ‘carved thru’ pumpkin.)

Downloaded the app and the kids did the rest. Super intuitive editing controls, really easy to use, and you get a great Pumpkin Selfie to share or carve yourself! Amazed at how easy my kids found it. Great app, totally recommend.

The app has two problems:1- The whole ‘take a picture and turn it into a design’ just doesn’t work well. Even with good lighting and no background it just doesn’t create a usable design2- If the software does create a recognizable design (like when using something very simple such as a picture of cartoon character) it doesn’t create a pattern that would work in reality. For example, it’ll create full circles to cut out and if you were to follow the design your final pumpkin wouldn’t look anything like what you want it to. Great idea, but unfortunately it really just doesn’t work.

This is so cool! I’m going to carve my whole family and have my porch look like the sticker on the back of my van!!
