Over-constrained format

This app lost a really useful feature: the ability to type straight Latex to generate formula with direct format control. It is now forcing the user to go through a keyboard analysing procedure that tries to fit the typed text into an incomplete mapping of what Latex can do, rendering commands such as \bm and \mathrm useless .. I dread to find what else is no longer possible. The app is now full of gimmicks and missing what made it great: plain simple Latex.

Buckle up, everyone. It looks like WIRIS is phasing out the MathType Desktop application. When that happens, users will be forced to rely on the MathType Word Add-in, which, in my experience, is a significant step backward in functionality. Try it yourself and compare the workflows.If you regularly use mathematical equations in your writing, this alternative application is worth learning. While it is not quite as polished as MathType Desktop, it preserves the essential capabilities that many of us depend on. You can create complex equations quickly, save them as SVG files, reopen them later, and continue editing them—something that is not possible with the MathType Word Add-in.My recommendation is to start familiarizing yourself with this software now. Although it may require some adjustments to your workflow, you will not lose any major functionality. In fact, it is currently the closest replacement I have found for MathType Desktop.Unfortunately, WIRIS appears unable to maintain the desktop version, either because keeping pace with Microsoft Office updates has become too difficult or because Microsoft is increasingly limiting deep desktop integrations. Regardless of the reason, MathType Desktop's future appears uncertain. If and when it disappears, this application will likely be the best available alternative.

I purchaed it 15 minutes ago and tried it out at once. It works, to the extent I checked. When used with Apple's Pages, the xFormula makes equation editing very easy. I have yet to test it on Google Doc. Can you (Mr. Zhang) make xFormula an add-on to Page and/or Google Doc? This may make cut-and-paste even easier, although I am already happy the way it is. Some of the reviewers are too harsh. For $5.99 you can buy a Big Mac with no fries and no drink. The service provided by xFormula is certainly worth the cash.

The tool is slick, but after I purchased the VIP version, I still keep getting the prompt to purchase and can't enter more than 10 characters with "Restore" being the only available button. Can't figure out how to make it work.
