Link Unshortener expands shortened web links, following redirects until it reveals the destination URL. Never again click a link before you know where it's going!

• Automatically removes URL tracking parameters.
• Automatically removes URL text fragments.
• Automatically upgrades URLs from http to https.
• No web cookies, storage, or caches. No JavaScript, tracking pixels, or HTTP Referer. Generic User-Agent. Your anonymity and privacy is protected.

• Includes a Mac system service.
• Dock icon accepts drag and drop of links.
• Link Unshortener can be set as your default web browser!

Simple utility that does exactly what it promises

I use with StopTheMadness by the same developer and this utility works well together. Biggest issue with using with stopthemadness is the small amount of configuration required to connect the two.Edit: The trimming only known trackers is a nice improvement. Most of the time older versions did a great job, but occassionally it would lose item or article ids along with the trackers. Easy enough to toggle, or go back a step or two but still a small extra step. So nice to see an improvement here.
Game changer

When you set it as your default browser, it will pop up briefly to show you where you're going and then disappear. Then it loads the link into Safari (or whatever browser you choose), but without all the tracking/email campaign garbage. Big fan.
Amazingly useful tool

Works superbly to examins links, remove tracking, avoid malicious sites. I only wish it could be integrated with Firefox to send links to Unshortener from (opening links in Firefox private windows would also be nice). Integrates nicely with StopTheMadness [and Pro] too!
Bust those short tracker links
Kubisuro
This is especially useful for dealing with continued use t.co links — I really don’t want X to be involved with anything. I just right click a link, go to the Services menu and bust that short URL real easy.
• New setting to customize the Link Unshortener default User-Agent for HTTP requests
• New search field in Trackers Settings
• Tooltips for the popup menu items in Web Rules Settings to show the bundle identifiers of the apps
• Added MSN cvid and ocid URL query parameters to the list of known trackers
• Handle Smartbrief newsletter redirects
• Detect DataDome CAPTCHAs
• New debug window in the Help menu that shows the HTTP requests and responses
• Link Unshortener now requires macOS 14 or later
