Early Warning with Ultrasonic Accuracy Connect to Your Anonymous Network to Learn about Disease Approaching You This app was primarily designed for use in Allegheny County, Don Salvador Benedicto, Georgia Tech, Grand Valley State University, Harvard, King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, Las Vegas in New Mexico, and Santa Fe. NOVID goes beyond contact tracing. It is the first and only application that warns you about cases of COVID-19 in your personal network before you you're exposed, while keeping you anonymous. It gives you personalized COVID Radar about disease spread. It also gives you exposure alerts if you have spent a long time near people who later self-report positive tests. It's your radar and shield in this difficult time. Under the hood, NOVID automatically generates a random anonymous identifier, which has no relationship to your personal information. You don't need to provide an email address, phone number, username, or password. NOVID periodically scans the nearby area using a combination of Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and ultrasound, detecting and sending only anonymous identifiers.

I downloaded Novid and it is simply LEGENDARY. The app is fully anonymous it doesn’t even store personal information which is very unique for a contact tracing app. Plus because they use Bluetooth and ultrasound they are able to be more precise and give me the best insights I need to take proper precautions. This can and will make contact tracing more precise and ease the healthcare system. I feel so safe knowing people like the team at NOVID are out there building things to make the world a safer place

It’s a good app design and some people seem to be having success with it. I know that before the app had to be open to work on iOS, and now the new wifi background mode seemed promising. However, my roommates and I all have this app. We tested it both ways, with the app open and in background mode, none of us got a new connection. I have had this app for around 4-5 months, and live in a decent sized college town. I have never got even 1 connection. I even have kept it open in public, like it recommends. I keep it, because I think it’s important. However, I am not sure it actually works..

Btw, if you're interested in learning about the background work, listen to Prof. Loh's helpful info. sessions on Facebook.Update: Standby Mode + Guided Access makes my iphone behave almost exactly the same as when it's normally shut off. Great design once again!

This is a revolutionary app because it’s the only preexposure notification app. The app itself is well laid out and easy to use and understand. The only problem is that not enough people know about this app or have downloaded it. It is an amazing idea but needs more downloads to be effective. PLEASE DOWNLOAD THE APP AND TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW TO DO THE SAME!! (There is an easy way to share the app in the settings)
