i wrote an automater script to mute my mic then went looking for a way to display volume level letting me me know if mic was on. I found this and ditched my script. This also activates instantly whereas running my script has a delay. I dont have volume levels like i was searching for but this is fine. i just need some sort of visual on/off state.

This works brilliantly and I will be sending a tip. The ONLY issue I have is that when your mic is active, the icon in the menu bar is grayed out -- which is a very common UI indication of something being deactivated. Further muddying things, when you mute the mic, the icon becomes solid white. I think the cleaner solution would be to make the "mic on" state solid white, and then the "mute" state either grayed out, crossed out, or maybe both. It should stick as closely to the MacOS speaker icon as possible.

Thank you for this great app. when i want to use other browsers that don't have the built in feature, i use this app and it's pretty good. I don't know if this is my problem or not but sometimes when it's off, others can still hear me. anyways it's an amazing app!

This was a great app to quickly bind a spare keyboard key to make a mute key. But then my camera died and I started using continuity camera with my iPhone and for some reason this app doesn't seem to mute the mic when using that. Hopefully the devs can get that bug worked out. If you don't use continuity camera, its great!
