Great in Theory

I was using this as my primary & thought it would save time, but I’ve head to go backwards due to continued glitches with the app that creates serious inefficiencies when on the job site.Load times, and sometimes it freezes mid-project as I take measurements & does not save. As a result, I lose a bunch of measurements and have to redo them all over again (not fun when you’ve taken 30 measurement on a ladder & 15 disappear because the app froze). Also, if you don’t turn the “standby” mode off on your phone or tablet, when you reopen your phone to add a measurement, whatever you just input before your phone goes on standby is erased. Now you have to redo a bunch of measurements. Super frustrating!Then there’s responsiveness. It’s real finicky when you’re trying to move arrows or texts within a picture. Sometimes you need to hold your finger on an object for a good 2-3 seconds before you can move it. I’ve had these issues happen in both iPad & phone apps. I’ve basically gone back to taking measurements on paper and taking pics. If there’s something unique about the project that’s when I really use the app to hold pictures & write notes. Otherwise I’m more worried about the app working correctly vs focusing on the project I’m planning for. App needs a lot more work!

Measure On Pro - Abusive cost

I've been using the Bosch MeasureOn app on my iPad for several years. One of the main reasons I bought Bosch measuring lasers was because of the app's features. Over the years, I've purchased over four lasers and recommended them to around 20 colleagues. However, with my new iPad Pro, I discovered that the MeasureOn app I was using is no longer available, and there's a new version. I'm still trying to get used to it, but I discovered that exporting my measurements now requires a paid subscription. While I might consider paying for an app if the price is reasonable, the monthly fee for this app seems too steep. I've spent over $400 on a laser, and now they want an extra $15 monthly to use the app properly. To compare, I pay less than $10 monthly for music and $10 a year for drawing apps I use frequently. I don't think it's fair to be charged $15 a month ($180 year) for an app that used to come free with my laser purchase. This pricing is just too expensive. I hope they reconsider and adjust the pricing, as Bosch might end up losing many customers. After seven years, I'm highly disappointed and frustrated with this additional monthly fee on top of the hardware I already use.

You can export single elements of the workspace via clicking on the element (room plan, photo, note) on the workspace and click "share". Great idea poorly implemented

I was initially very impressed by the laser measuring device and the associated app. The documentation is very poor and there is no way to transfer photos to your phone without plugging the laser measure into your computer first. It also claims to have an cloud element but no way to sign in. And now the app is crashing every time I try to draw something. Also when you draw it won’t compute area even when the angles are at 90°. And if you have slightly different measurements on each side it doesn’t appear to compute the area even though why would you need this if you had a perfect square or rectangle! I want to like this but I do feel that a pad and paper we’re printing out copies of my plans would be much easier to mark on than bothering to sketch with my finger and then figure out how to export this via PDF an email especially since you can’t compute areas on a photo that I can see. I hope they will continue to improve this because I want it to be good.

If measurements are put in brackets, no area calculation can be done because of a logical conflict. We would be pleased if you could send us a screenshot of your floor plan with all measurements so that we can recreate it and find a solution. Used out for a long time to measure and record for motorized screen systems. Had a lot of data. Opened it up and it stated session time out. And let me proceed. I could see all of are work spaces behind it. We had a subscription past, so it ask us to update. We did. It deleted all the data and measurements off of our iPad, and then randomly selected, a few workplace measurements over the past six months once logged in. I did contact their service, but they have not responded. It has done a few glitching in the past like not saving measurements, but not like this. The loss of data will cost our company greatly. We will not beat a price increase from a supplier. We are talking thousands. As a result, we recommend any construction company considering this product think twice. Do not use this app or the measuring tool.
