Effective, but also need improvements

The subscription is not expensive and there is no bandwidth or traffic limit. That already makes it a good VPN product.The Windows beta client almost never connects although the Chrome extension on the same device works without a problem. The PAC-like rule is handy, what it is now might be enough for browser but to be a global VPN, there is so much left to be done. The software really lags when you import a huge list which commonly works smoothly with a personally built socks server.I know China is not one of the regular places when judging a VPN. AdGuard VPN had been functioning properly a while ago but is getting less and less stable. It is common to see no available locations now. On Windows, I have a fallback v2ray server (based on completely free VPS, domain name, nat64 and CDN, so it not not going to be very reliable) which also helps it to connect to AdGuard servers. However on iOS, VPNs mostly cannot live together so the trick cannot be done and I haven’t figured out a walk-around.

The VPN disconnects so often. There is no widget to reconnect from the home screen or to just quickly check if you have been disconnected. If you open the app Wallet VPN is running it will always disconnect and reconnect. If you check your settings you can see that it’s not a visual glitch and that the VPN has actually restarted. I reveals your IP address for a split second which is enough for an ISP or website to know.I would love to say that I hope this will be fixed, but the truth is I have never reached out to an app developer and had such little to no response whatsoever. I am constantly ignored on Twitter, I am ignored on Reddit and even through support I get an open ticket I tell them what they’ve asked and then they close the ticket. I am always blown away I’ve never seen a company go out of their way to actively ignore an issue.I don’t know what is going on over there, but the support you provide to your customers is the worst I’ve ever seen. For all I know the issue I’m experiencing could be fixed really easily, but I’ll never get an answer. If nudging the developer as the app suggests works then you should have at least 50 for me or more. I’m sure I’ll get a developer response on this review that tells me to do some thing, but I can guarantee if I follow their instructions I will still get ignored at some point or not see a response. It will be a very surface level interaction with no real fixes.TLDR: connection drops often and reveals your IP. The connection and reconnection will alert your ISP that you are using a VPN.

Most functional vpn on iOS

I normally try to only use open source software wherever possible and I still use a wireguard vpn on my laptop but as far as an iOS vpn? This is by far the most functional one on the App Store. It's fast, easy to configure and as far as I've seen it's literally the only vpn on iPhone that has split tunneling. It works a little different than normal split tunneling but it still makes it possible to run this 24/7 without getting locked out of your banking apps, etc that normally block vpn connections. TBH I think you guys should really advertise this functionality more because I spent so much time trying to find a vpn that let me do this and I tried so many trials to so many other vpns and none of them had it but you guys. Keep up the good work <3

It pains me to give this app such a low review because I know, given some the time, these adGuard devs will knock this out of the park just like they did with their other products! So long as Apple can mind their own and not pull any of their weird stuff. However, it’s just not quite there in its current state. And I’d be very hard pressed to pay for the premium at this point in time. It seemed to be rolling pretty well but something was causing it to frequently get disconnected then connect again and so on and so forth. Which may have been causing the other issue of when it was able to get connected it was at extremely slow speeds and and sometimes unloaded and I had to get rid of it for now.! But I will be waiting on to come back and change this review once it’s where we expect it to be, in due time! Because as I mentioned, the app itself it’s looks very good!! I think it’s even cleaner looking than the original app(s). Which are vanity amazing! . The difference imo is the new face of the app. The ninja very cool footing backgtound . All I can say is I can’t wait to be back when she’s really ready to rock
