Description

Transform your iPhone into the best document camera on the market with Doc Cam!

Doc Cam is a straightforward app for sharing your workspace with your students, just like a document camera or old school overhead projector. Doc Cam was designed with the needs of the remote learning classroom in mind. It’s compatible with Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, and other services through screen mirroring, all with easy step-by-step guides for setup. For teachers who have already transitioned back to the classroom, you can still use Doc Cam with modern classrooms outfitted with computers or projectors compatible with AirPlay Screen Mirroring.

DOC CAM FEATURES
1. Works with Zoom, Google Meet, Screen Mirroring and more.
2. Perfect for remote learning.
3. Zoom and pan the camera.
4. Smart Flashlight - distributes the lighting evenly across the entire document camera image when the flashlight is enabled.
5. Auto Level - keeps the document camera image level even when your phone isn't.
6. Freeze video frame.
7. Transition back to the classroom with AirPlay support.
8. And more!

Better

Updated review:
They seem to have fixed the camera quality issue and I use this app almost every day now to help teach the students I work with! The app is very intuitive and does what I need. I wish it had support for portrait mode for displaying worksheets, notebooks, etc. Besides that, I think the app is great!

Original review:
I really want to like this app, but the camera quality it produces is so bad! I have an iPhone 11 which has a wonderful camera, but with this app the quality looks so fuzzy and grainy and I’m not sure why...

*UPDATE 12/18/20*: Thank you for your kind words in your updated review! We are happy to hear the camera quality issue has been resolved and that you are finding the app useful. We are investigating new features to add to the app in the future and we'd love to hear more about how a portrait mode may help you. If you can drop us an email at doccam@swiftkick.it, we'll be in touch.

We'd also like to take this opportunity to clarify for you and other users that may see this review that the landscape orientation mode currently in the app matches the screen orientation of most laptops students use to view their Teams, Zoom, or Google Meet classes. If we were to add a portrait orientation mode, the image on the student's screen would appear with letterboxes, and the document may also appear smaller on their screen compared to the same document presented in landscape orientation.

*UPDATE 11/17/20*: As of v1.1.0, we have added two new features which should help this issue. First, we switched to the highest quality lens available on the device. Second, we added a Smart Flashlight feature to distribute lighting evenly across the entire document camera image. We hope these features improve your experience and that our users continue to love using Document Camera.

*ORIGINAL RESPONSE*: Sorry to hear you are having issues. If you send an email to doccam@swiftkick.it, we'd love the opportunity to work directly with you to get to the bottom of your camera issue!

What I needed

It serve the purpose of using my phone as a document camera for online teaching but I would like to have the option of using it in portrait and not be restricted to landscape
