Rediscover your Mac photos with AI. PicArrange goes far beyond file names, using visual content, color, text, location, and metadata to search and organize images.
Say goodbye to endless scrolling in Finder. PicArrange transforms the way you explore, search, and clean up local image files on your Mac with smart visual sorting and multiple search capabilities.
Note: PicArrange is designed to manage direct image files stored on your local drives, external disks, or network storage. It is not designed to manage images inside the Apple Photos app library.
Whether you are managing tens of thousands of photos, clearing out duplicates across scattered folders, or searching for a specific visual style, PicArrange groups, organizes, and searches your images based on their actual content, not just their creation date or file name.
5 Smart Ways to Find Photos
• Visual Content & Color: Explore images sorted in intuitive 1D or 2D grids by visual similarity.
• Textual AI Search: Search with prompts like "red sports car" or "dog on a beach".
• Image & Clipboard Search: Drag in a reference photo or paste one to find similar visual styles.
• Location Matching: Easily find photos taken near any image using its embedded GPS data.
• Metadata Filtering: Filter and sort by EXIF, IPTC, aspect ratios, file names, and tags.
File Management & Workflow
• Duplicate Cleanup: Auto-mark duplicates across directories, export CSV reports, or delete files.
• Direct File System Control: Rename, move, copy, and manage files & folders on local or network drives.
• Pro Viewer: Slideshows with video playback, SDR/HDR toggles, and instant zoom/pan controls.
• Seamless Integration: Drag images to other apps, set hotkeys for favorites, and share instantly.

Interesting and useful!

Admittedly i did first download this seeking a replacement for the Google Image Search desktop application that could find all copies of a particular image on one's hard drive, from small jpeg to raw ooriginal, but was cruelly diiscontinued by the company, like so many other of the useful apps they developed or bought. This seemed to be the closest thing to that. However, what really have come to appreciate is PicArrange's usefulness in curating images that go together beautifully but I would never think to combine. It is a treasure-finder as a fine artist! I also appreciate that the service does not collect data. Needless collection of personal data is depressing and weird so thank you for not doing it. OK, back to the enchanting world of colors, patterns and shapes. Thank you!
Great app for photo organization!

Have used PA for over 6 months, but today it really impressed me! Working with a collection of about 1000 older black and white and color family photos, mostly of people. Text searches like "two men in snow", "man in sailor uniform", "man sitting in chair with legs crossed","three women sitting on a couch","seven children" - all hit the target photo(s) perfectly. Other modes, like color similarity, also work great. Highly recommend!
Great color sort but problematic with ‘Live Photos’
Kalaga1
Great to sort photos by similarity of colors (e.g., White Document photos, Green garden plants photos across dates). Then it is easy to organize these photos. However, the biggest problem is when you move / delete iOS live photos, it does not understand Live Photos - it only moves / deletes the image part. So, you must manually move / delete the video part which makes it cumbersome. Also, it does not work directly with the Photos library. Overall, it has some especially useful color sorting features distinct from duplicate photo apps (e.g., Photo Sweeper X, Gemini 2, etc.) which rely on much closer visual similarity.
awesomely useful for sorting
