Great for Expository preaching.

I am really enjoying this app. This past Sunday my pastor had 28 references to texts outside of our main text. With the auto fill feature I was able to not only note all of them but was able to read along with him just by writing the book, chapter, and verse.
The record feature is also helpful for going back to those long quotes to get them right in my notes.
The app is so young and I look forward to growing with it.

Things I hope to see in the future are
1. The ability to add bullet points
2. The ability to do handwritten notes with the pencil
3. Text boxes

I could go on telling of the practical uses for this app but really I just think you need to try it for yourself.

Conflicting Feelings

So far out of all the note apps I have tried to use at church this is by far the best. That being said there is still one thing I’m having a hard time with. The time stamps, I absolutely love the feature of being able to record my pastors sermons and having time stamps to go back in a quick pinch but everything is time stamped. I would love to time stamp the major points and have indented sub points under them that aren’t time stamped. I don’t need every point I make in my notes to be time stamped, especially when it was typed not even 10 seconds after the previous one. I don’t like how the format with the time stamp has everything in a single line, because when I go back this makes it harder for me to pick out the key topics discussed for that sermon. Granted I know I can highlight, indent, underline, or bold the keep point but that lack of extra format is a negative for me. I found out that in typing a sermon that’s not recorded I can go back and use bullet points but there are no “sub points” so again it’s hard to distinguish the big sections from their sub points. I am big into organization so this could just be a preference of mine and no one else feels this way but I just wish there was more to formatting recorded notes. I love everything else about the app I just wish there was more choices when how we can format our notes.

Great app, but…

This is really the best app in the App Store when it comes to taking sermon notes. I can’t speak to the audio recording portion as haven’t used it yet. I love the ability to insert bibles verses as I’m typing, with them displaying very clearly and distinctly.

The only thing that has kept me from rating as a 5 star is the lack of being able to create nested bullet points. It only has a single bullet indentation which forces me to add additional markings next to the bullet if I want to create sub-points. If they could add those nested bullet or numeral point options (I.e. “1)”, “2.”, “IV)”, etc), this would be hands down a 5-star for me.
