First of all, let me say there is NOTHING seamless about this service. I uploaded pictures of my past lease documents and they came back a few days later and said they didn’t get them. So I had to scan them and send them in PDF files. Finally a few days later they said they got them. I gave access to my checking account, that was easy enough. My rent is the only thing I pay for with a check. So on my monthly statements there is literally one check to verify as my rent. They said my payments were missing except the last 2 months and requested I download pdf bank statements and highlight my payments. Huh?! Why give access to my checking account if you’re not actually going to use it to verify? I feel like they literally just wanted me to do the work for them. When I sent a message to ask why it couldn’t be verified, the response I received was basically- don’t worry, the last 60 days of your payments will be reported to the credit agencies. Needless to say I have spent an hour downloading and highlighting bank statements, just to upload them into the app for them to verify my payments. If I had it to do over again I absolutely would not even bother with this service. My credit isn’t bad and I don’t necessarily need the “28 point average” they say I will get from using it. This is as a huge headache and I do not recommend anyone using it!

I heard about this a while ago and thought it was too good to be true!!!!! But it was true!!! This app has helped not only make life easier but literally helped my credit score a ton!!! If you rent you MUST use this! Don’t let your responsible rent payments go unrewarded! It’s literally the difference of helping your credit score (without trying )or or not helping it ….every month.. sooo why not?? We all know good credit helps everything in life become easier ..we all have to pay our rent so why not be able to prove how responsible you really are this way, and usually our most expensive bill of the month we must pay just to have a roof over our head is rent and there is nothing more frustrating than dumping money every month for something that doesn’t even help our credit score to one day help us purchase a home! Thank you whoever made this app possible!!

I researched several apps that claim to report your completed rent payments to one or more of the major credit bureaus, and decided to go with Boom. This app cost a minimal amount more upfront than some of the others but given it reported to all three major credit bureaus and reported past rental payments up to 24 months, in my opinion it was worth it! It was a bit of a headache going back and forth with the reps from Boom as I was verifying my last 2 years of completed rent payments. But eventually I lucked out and got contacted by a super helpful representative from the app! This representative took the initiative to review the documents I had previously submitted and were able to verify my payments that were included, very quickly. After noticing that Boom app was showing up on at least one credit report update, my credit went up on that site +12 points. Thank you Arnel and the rest of the Boom team!
