Ratings and Reviews
Use This One
I do not use this every day. I have tried a zillion color picking tools. Usually, I can't figure out how to use it when the need arises two months later. This one I can. It responds to 'color' in Spotlight so I can find it.
Also, it does exactly what I want. Click the eyedropper, click anything I can see, click next to the representation I want. DONE.
AND, if that's not enough, it contributes to the system swatch library so I can add an unusual color to my email if I want.
Even better if you change the settings
Install this > Go to it's Settings > turn on "Copy color...after picking" > turn on "Quit after picking" (if you want) > click turn on "Show color sampler when opening"
Now this app is even better. You open it. It automatically is ready to pick a color. You pick a color. It copies it. It closes itself. You paste the color. You continue working.
It works better than the stock app
The Digital Color Meter, a default MacOS color picker app, is not useful for graphic arts, and the default color picker app doesn't that other apps have to use doesn't show all the color spaces you need to work on design rapidly. I am able to see the values of RGB, HEX, LCH and HSL through 1 interface, which reduces the friction that was there before. Highly recommend if you work in multiple colorspaces.
