Sometimes magic is hard to describe. But I'll take a stab at it! The card preview images are now a bit bolder. The image margins you probably never noticed were magicked away. That's it for this update. Another day older is another day to have ice cream.

I heard the complaints and listened. That's right. I listen! Nobody knew when their cards were ready to be sent. I've gone ahead and made the send button active as soon as you open a card. That's it. It's a short but sweet update. Anything worth fighting for is worth fighting dirty for.

I got greedy and paid the price. I was hell-bent on ensuring all GIFs were high resolution. But that meant I was making your phone work harder than it should and the created GIFs ended up choppy. Ironic how greed didn't pay. So I fixed it! Your GIFs are slightly lower resolution but oh so buttery smooth. Lessons learned. See you next time! *Bows out gracefully*

The app has been renamed to JollyCards. The old name, Sunshine, was a bit too popular with other apps. So went for a name as unique as this app. eCards as GIFs is revolutionary. Just you wait! Sadly some old issues persisted through the rebrand. The generated GIFs were too big, and wouldn't share via some mail/chat apps. Was this embarrassing? Yes. But the motto is "release early, release often". And why do I have the courage to admit this? Because it's been fixed! Your eCard GIFs are now reliably encoded to produce much smaller file sizes! Finally you can send your ecards via any app that lets you share images.

Everyone loves the word "sunshine". It's used in songs, movies, and apparently a lot of apps. This creates a problem of "a lovable but vague" name. So I "pondered in R&B" while thinking of a workaround; that didn't work. I tried pacing back and forth in my living room; that still didn't do the trick. I gave up on trying to solve this like I lived in a 3-minute music video and slept on it. And that's why it took a couple weeks to get this update out. It was a rather long nap but something major happened. The app has been It's been renamed from Sunshine to JollyCards! Isn't that just a lot more descriptive? It's at least sort of unique- I checked. The card edit interface is also bit less annoying. All the text in a card can now be edited! If you don't like the careful curated wording, switch it up, then add the custom final message as usual.

Fan letters left me with two options - include a user manual or redesign the app. I never read manuals, but I am partial to those that fit in 140 characters or less. So here we are. At the end of the first official redesign. My closest friends say they are impressed and they aren't the type to spare my feelings. Download the app and see for yourself!
