I like this app a lot- it’s really helpful being able to see my clothes in one place and not have to pull everything out of my drawers to pack or plan an outfit. BUT I think it is missing one crucial feature that would really set it apart. Mostly I want to use this app to use the collage-outfit maker to see how different pieces would look layered on top of one another so I don’t have to try on ten different variations irl. I would use the app way more if there was a way to be able to go into each item and make an alternative image/png with parts of the item visible and some parts not. For example, with this one could make an alternate of their button down shirt with just the collar so they could place it OVER the collar of a sweater. Or for a cardigan over a t shirt, I want to be able to layer the tshirt under the cardigan so it actually looks like it would irl, with the back interior of the cardigan covered by the shirt, and the tshirt sleeves/sides covered by the cardigan. Maybe the more complicated way would be if the alternative version had some way of establishing (this portion of the item is on a layer higher than this portion) etc, but it would also work well I think to just offer the option for me to cut the “inside/back” out of the png and replace it with transparency. I think anything like this feature being added could really improve this app and make it way more useful. :)

What I am NOT: thin, young, fashion forward thirty-something. What I AM: mid-50s, curvy petite retired woman who loves to travel. I came across this app when watching a you tube video when searching for packing a capsule wardrobe for a three month trip to Europe. I was immediately intrigued and downloaded it. I started photographing all the items I thought I’d bring on my trip. I then uploaded them and added minimal details to each which began my “wardrobe”. (AI cropped out the backgrounds for me which made the items clear and crisp). I then paired things together to form “outfits”. (Note that AI makes outfit suggestions too…a few of which I like but I think many don’t go together well.) The creation of outfits was a tremendous help in deciding what to bring on my trip as I am taking only a carryon and want to maximize pairings but minimize bringing one-wear items. I’ve since read the OW blog and become knowledgeable of what styles, cuts, and colors suit me. This app has actually CHANGED HOW I SHOP! I am now aware of what I own and specifically, what I may be lacking. Last time I went to the store I went straight for that evasive petite blazer / Moto jacket as opposed to rifling through the racks for random items I thought “cute”. I am amazed how mindful I’ve become because of this app. Thank you to the developers for helping this “old lady” find her style and limit impulse buys.
Chronic illness and disability life saver

I have recently developed a in extreme sensitivity to fabric as well as additional chronic illness and because I myself work in healthcare have been very focused on buying and wearing things within my seasonal color palette to look healthier.I also have developed a pretty extreme sensitivity fabrics, which I am still really not figuring out what even works and it’s just been an absolute nightmare or had been. I am honestly shocked how much of been able to do with in this app so far we’re the one picture it easily identified. I don’t have a lot of patience and tolerance for slow things. I also have a and very nice that I can. Also it looks like create a wardrobe for her. I’m actually really pleased that I have been able to do this much for free as well. Only thing that I didn’t see any thing of but I could also be wrong is a spot for a wish like I am also trying to make sure that because I have a hard time leaving with ADHD, and I will buy the wrong and also I would love to talk to include some of make up choices, and nothing extreme, but like I am not putting us all face in, but it would be wonderful if I could add something like pallet or lipstick etc. that works really well with the outlet. As of right now, if there is some sort of wishlist within the app, it’s pretty gosh darn close to perfect.
Developer Response
Thank you so much for your review. You can create a new wardrobe as a wishlist and add makeup to that. Our AI doesn't yet recognize makeup, but it should not prevent you from adding it. Don't hesitate to email support@myopenwardrobe.com with any other suggestions.
THE BEST APP TO KEEP TRACK OF YOUR CLOTHES
Meeeeeeerrerrrrrgtrerredre!!!
If you’re a lowkey shopaholic or you just have a lot of clothes or you have a small closet space so you have to put your winter clothes away in the summer and vice versa, whatever the case you have to get this app! I’m all of the above and it’s been so helpful to digitally see all my clothing in one place so before I buy something I can make sure I don’t have something similar I already own or to double check it’ll go with my current clothing. There’s also been so many times I forget what I already own so I can go look at my dresses and I’ll see that one dress I forgot I even had. YOU NEED THIS APPThe Open Wardrobe team is also the best ever! Their response time is crazy fast. I sent an email with a bug in the app and they responded with speed. I also made a suggestion on being able to filter by sleeve length and dress length and similar filters…. and they used my suggestion!! Now the app is soo user friendly and fulfills what I need perfectly! Thank you so much to the team for listening to user feedback <3
