This app lets me know exactly what the wind conditions are, whether I'm out on the water or at home thinking about heading to the marina. When I run into that old salt Artie on the docks talking about that great force 5 storm, I now know exactly how much embellishment is being used here and that perhaps I should do the same, sprinkling in references to the great wind God Rama.Either way, it's a great little app that provides a little data to back up the stories told over beer.

This app gives a great synopsis of the current and forecasted weather, and at the same time gets you accustomed to the Beaufort Scale which is often used in maritime settings. The main screen gives you everything you want to know about the current weather. It focuses on wind as that is the basis for the Beaufort scale, but also gives other weather data. If you click on the hourly or daily buttons you get a graphical representation of the forecasted winds and directions. You can access other screens to learn more about each level of the Beaufort scale and learn the visual indicators for each sea state. It’s really a pretty slick app!
