DeyesFree is a dice roller built to be used entirely by ear. Roll the dice and a real recorded human voice speaks every die and the total. Designed from day one for players who are blind or have low vision, and just as handy for anyone who wants to keep their eyes on the game instead of a screen.
ROLL ANYTHING
• 1 to 100 dice with any number of sides — 3d6+2, 1d20, 2d100, whatever your game calls for
• Mix dice in one roll: 1d20+2d6+3, each group with its own rule
• Or type it: 2d20kh1+3, 5d10≥7, 4d6dl1×6, with a plain-language preview as you go
• Fate dice, d6d6, and coin flips that speak heads and tails
• Rules built in: advantage, keep or drop the lowest, success pools, exploding dice, reroll low dice, minimum and maximum die value
• Set a target number and hear whether you made it, or repeat a roll to build a whole stat array in one tap
HEAR EVERY ROLL
• Warm, professionally recorded human voices
• Adjustable speed from 0.5× to 2.5×
• Short, distinct sounds identify each tabletop rule
• Choose what a roll says by itself: the total, every die, or both
• Dice rattle across the table as you roll, with optional tavern ambiance
DICE BAGS
• A separate bag for every game: twelve presets, roll tables, counters, history, and game settings in each
• Seven ready-made bags to start from, or build your own
• Roll tables: the number is spoken, the outcome appears on screen
• Counters for hit points, ammo, or initiative — every change is spoken
• Preset groups: roll the attack, then the damage if it hit, in one tap
• Share a bag with your party as a file, and mark tables private so players can roll them without reading them
PLAY LIKE A PRO
• Mark the dice you want to keep, then reroll the rest — or just shake your phone
• Roll history keeps and names your rolls, and brings any of them back with a tap
• Share any roll as text, ready to paste into your group chat
JUST ASK SIRI
• "Hey Siri, roll two dice with DeyesFree" — the dice roll and speak in the app's recorded voice, without even opening the app
• Say any roll: "roll 3d6", "roll with advantage", "flip a coin"
• "Reroll with DeyesFree" rolls again, keeping any dice you marked
• Roll presets by number or name — "roll my Longsword preset"
BUILT FOR ACCESSIBILITY
• Full VoiceOver support
• Braille mode: every result flashes on your braille display instead of speaking
• Magic Tap (two-finger double tap) rerolls from anywhere
• Hardware keyboard control: roll presets, step through dice, mark, sort, and reroll without touching the screen
ON APPLE WATCH
• Tap the screen or shake your wrist to roll
• Swipe to change the dice, turn the Digital Crown to pick a preset
• Add the complication to your watch face — one tap rolls and speaks it
• Presets, voice, and voice speed sync automatically from your iPhone
• Speaks entirely on its own — no VoiceOver required
This app makes rolling easy. Otherdicerolling apps I’ve used are clunky and frustrating. When you’re playing with others, you need to be able to roll quickly so you don’t bog down the game, this applet’s you do that. It is laid out in a logical and convenient way and a pleasure to use. Thanks for creating this app.
Great D&D tool
straymonkey
Playing D&D now became a whole lot easier to play and eat snacks at the same time.
DeyesFree 3.1 opens up the dice: type any roll you like, seven new tabletop mechanics, effect dice, and a way to send a roll to your group chat.
TYPE YOUR ROLLS
• Every editor now has a Pick or Type switch — type 2d20kh1+3, 5d10≥7, 4d6dl1×6, 1d100vs≤65 and roll it
• A plain-language preview under the field shows how your notation reads, on every keystroke
• A token row above the keyboard puts the operators one tap away
MORE WAYS TO ROLL
• Penetrating dice, and exploding dice that can trigger below the top face — 9-again pools
• Roll-under checks: succeed at or under your target, the way Call of Cthulhu and BRP play
• Critical on 19–20: widen the crit range, and those naturals count as a natural 20 in every way
• Keep the best of two dice groups — the Savage Worlds trait die and wild die
• Maximum die value, the mirror of the minimum rule
• The Call of Cthulhu bonus and penalty die
• Link a counter as a roll's modifier, so a stat lives in one place and every preset using it follows
EFFECT DICE
• Switch on Bless and 1d4 rides every check until you switch it off; Bane subtracts it
• One-use effects switch themselves off after a single roll, like bardic inspiration
CHOOSE WHAT YOU HEAR
• Announce, per dice bag: a roll can say the total, every die, or both
• Speak the margin on a check — how far over or under you landed, for games that read degrees of success
• Learn the sounds: a screen that plays every sound the app makes, one button each, with what it means
SHARE AND SYNC
• Share any roll as text: the notation, the roll written out in words — paste it straight into your group chat
• Or copy every roll automatically as you play
• iCloud sync keeps your dice bags the same on all your devices — (experimental)
A NEW LANGUAGE AND TWO NEW VOICES
• The app is now fully in German
• An American English male voice, alongside the two English voices already there
AND MORE
• The app now works in every orientation, not just portrait
• Various bug fixes and improvements
